[Hack] $9.65 Small Big Mac Meal+ "Double Fillet-O-Fish" Hacked @ McDonald's via Mymacca's App + Counter

To my dear fellow fillet o fish lover ozBgn'ers.

This hack requires both app and at counter (I can’t seem to add steamed bun to cheeseburger order and there doesn’t seem to be an option for fillet o fish portions)

STEP 1 VIA APP
Order the $5.95 Big Mac Meal with Cheeseburger in the McClassics section of app.
Customize Cheeseburger: No Ketchep, No Regular Onions, No Regular Beef Patty, No Pickles, No Salt & Pepper. [Just Bu and a full slice of cheese]
PLACE ORDER. (Click through to payment section and make payment. You will then follow steps to check in and confirm you have arrived in store. Then you will receive an Order number ie: 148; to confirm your order has gone into the stores system)
https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/76531/68015/img-201903…

STEP 2 AT COUNTER
Point to your 148 order on screen and say; “that weird cheeseburger there, it is only bun and cheese, please ask the cooks at back to steam the bun like they do for fillet o fishes”
Then order:
1 x Tartare Sauce
2 x Fillet o Fish Portions
Pay and they will give you another order number.
Then say to the checkout staff; “please bag the 2 orders up together”
https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/76531/68013/img-201903…

Big Mac Meal with Cheeseburger $5.95 ORDER VIA APP (AT COUNTER; POINT AND ASK FOR STEAMED BUN TO THE CHEESBURGER)
1 Tartare Sauce $0.50 ORDER AT COUNTER/ OR ADD TO APP
2 Fillet Fish Portions $3.20 ORDER AT COUNTER
TOTAL $9.65

https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/76531/68012/img-201903…

I put the 2x fish portions inside the emtpy steamed cheeseburger; then dip the thing into the tub of tartare sauce.

[a normal fillet of fish is made of half a slice of cheese only; a double fillet of fish is 2x halfs slices of cheese, i think the ingredients are identical]

Full price Double Fillet of Fish burger only is $6.75. Big Mac $5.90. Small coke $2.60. Small Fries $2.20
This equates to $17.45 vs $9.65 [45% off]

OR
small mac meal @$9.70 + double fillet of fish burger only at $6.75
This equates to $16.45 vs $9.65 [41% off]

[please don't hate this post too much. I love a food ol fresh fillet o fish; and hate paying over $10 for McD's at the same time]

While I admire the effort, I'll be damned if I'm going to go through that whole process.

  • +7

    A+ for effort
D- for self worth for going through all that ;)

    • I agree a bit of work.
Took about a minute to process to save $7+.
(Wish I could earn $7/3mins of hassle as 9-5 day job)

    • +2

I correct myself. $7 after tax is about $10before tax.

  • This is too hard I’d rather do the the soft serve in a mc flurry cup hack if it still works

  • +4

I'm just here for the comments!

    • +3

I'm laughing too bro. Hope not too many neggers

  • +7

You are literally making life harder for everyone xD

    • +2

Quiet store late last night. Plenty of staff standing around doing not much.

Yer. I know a bit of hassle. $7 in my pocket is better than in big McD corp

  • Holy Big Mackerel

    • +2

      Hahahaha. Nice1

  • +1

Won't the staff become suspicious as I reading out the instructions?

    • +2

I did it with the manager yesterday.
Got me fresh fillet portions too.
      He was awesome.

  • +1

    I'm a fillet-o'fish fanboi too!

This hack is to hard for me but interesting to note you can order fillet-o-fish pieces.

  • +18

    Embarrassing waste of time

    • +1

You begged me? Some light fun mate. If not for you… There maybe some other ppl interested in saving $7.

Can you consider to revoke the neg please.

      I agree on the shame.
Let's call it mcD shame saving of $7+

      • Why are you asking them to steam the bin for free; that's what you get when you pay extra for the FoF.

  • +17

TL;DR. Is this a deal? No. It's a hack. Belongs in the forums.

Can we stop up voting this rubbish people.

  • +3

    Agh! Another McD [Hack]!
Have chosen to HIDE these Deals. That does mean Hiding all Deals by OPs who post them, as can't find another way.
    Bye.

  • +4

Thumbs up for your suggestion. If it works for you and other people it’s great and worth posting. Not every suggestion suits everyone and if it does not suit you then look for the next post.

Whatever makes you happy you should do, so long as you are not hurting anyone else.

    • +3

No weapons required. Thanks mate. Kind words

      • What many people fail to realise is that in the end no one will post any more bargains or hacks if people keep attacking them. People will then become scared because of the abuse they could receive. I would say generally no one wants to post something to receive abuse. Then it will be a loss for everyone who is a member of ozbargain.

I think I have maybe posted one negative in the whole time I have been here. However I have come to realize that someone has taken the time out of their day to share something that could be of benefit to others. If it doesn’t benefit you then that is not a valid reason for negging someone. If you think it’s a hassle or too much for you that’s not a reason for negging someone. What may seem trashy or stupid to you may help someone greatly or even make their day.

Without so many people sharing then ozbargain would cease to exist or be diminished in its capacity to help people.

  • +11

Think this is not a deal… We don't need this on here

STEP 3: Young person being paid a pittance on the front counter rolls their eyes, mutters something about OzBargain under their breath and gives the back a quick look, while using a free hand to indicate a protuberance on the customer's forehead.

    • +10

STEP 4: Identifying a cheap ass who makes their lives harder they just add something a little special to the sauce…

      • sorry not being a thrifty fella like you. hahahaha… points and laughs.
        my cheapness angers you
        (not my problem)

watch my $7 dollar lottery ticket win!!!
        wish me luck please

    • protuberance
      wow. large word

  • +2

this is dumb and using hack as a term for tips and tricks or something always has been and always will be stupid

  • +1

At what point does one's integrity outweigh the desire for a bargain?

  • +12

Not a bargain, solely an embarrassing waste of time.

  • +3

So many upset individuals 😂 I'd really hate to see their lives on truly stressful matters.

    • +1

i aim to entertain this saturday arvo/ night.

  • If anything, doing this too often will eventually alert the real Macca's police, the accountants/pricing staff. Like most of these hacks, these will eventually be edited out. Like pretty much everywhere else, taking out ingredients should only affect that burger. So you can get a cheaper burger, but not credit towards other stuff.

  • +16

I'm so sick of these "deals". You're just hijacking the Big Mac + Cheeseburger deal with some specific menu customisations and they're just getting more and more absurd.

    • +2

      vomit.
      made you look?

  • +2

I'm going to finish my PhD in Mcology before I can understand that

+1 just because you used the Hack tag in the title.

  • +4

    Jesus Christ. Have some dignity.

    • The OP has priced his dignity at $7

    • +2

You gave it up with you came to ozbargain

      • +1

There is a difference between using a coupon on eBay and harassing McDonalds employes to steam your buns and other crap.

        • +2

          Harass?
*There is a button to alter the bun to Steam bun on their system.

          • -1

@chinezejew: Do you think it's worth going through all this crap to save $7? Seems a colossal waste of time to double down on processed deep fried crappy food. Try eating a salad to improve your neuron connectivity so you can have the brain power to get a decent job instead of nickel and diming your way to cheaper junk food.

            • +1

              @Icecold5000: lol
even with $100k in the bank…. i think id still try to stretch my dollar.

              • -1

@chinezejew: That's not the point I'm making. It's about priorities in life. Some things are a false economy in the long run.

            • +1

              @Icecold5000: 50c a lot of money
50c here 50c there then you have a dollar
you take your dollar go to the dollar store and buy yourself something else

              • -3

@chinezejew: I'm sorry but I don't shop at dollar stores. I'm earn $481 a day after tax and its not a place I can see myself shopping.

Whether 50 cents is a lot of money depends on your income. You statement says a lot about how much you earn.

                • @Icecold5000: Why are you sorry?
Congrats to you for earning 2k per week.

                • @Icecold5000: @Icecold5000

your comment says alot about you ..incase you take it the wrong way ..it means you are a DIPSHIT! dude !

            • @Icecold5000: $7 shame on me.
ill invest it for my families future

              • @chinezejew: At the dollar shop?

                • @Icecold5000: Two dollar shop. I need 4x 50c.
                  (Daiso is $2.80)

                  …you haven't watched Russell peters.
Funny standup. His comedy Central one

                  • @chinezejew: Sorry I don't watch TV either. Like I said life is about priorities. Occasionally the NYTimes offers subscriptions for $4 a month. Perhaps with your booty you can enhance your understanding of the world and improve your financial status so you won't have to degrade yourself through these 'hacks'.

                    • +1

                      @Icecold5000: Haha.
No skin off my back mate.
                      I'm happy saving 40%.
                      You too much money.
                      Spare some change?

                      • @chinezejew: Haha you’re funny. But if you’re that desperate I’ll give you $7 to hand wash the skids from my Armani silk undies. Pm me for details. Damn those vindaloos.

                        • +2
                          • @chinezejew: Sorry mate. I only pay after I've received them back in pristine clean condition. Too many scammers around who want to rip off other people for a measly $7 instead of doing a honest days work. I've got some 50s which I usually give to the homeless or throw away because they're too big to carry around. need to get rid of them somehow.

                            • @Icecold5000: for a DIPSHIT who allegedly …" earn $481 a day after tax "
why is the dollar shop fixed into your vocabulary ??!!
                              just wondering ….

                              • @endorphine7: Chinesejew mentioned it. Never actually seen one before. Are they very good?

                                • @Icecold5000: yes they are good and it was good seeing you again infront of the store begging for change like you usually do..didnt know BEGGING was so prosperous …certainly not $481 a day after tax .. MAKE SURE YOU DECLARE THIS WITH THE ATO okie dokie ??

                                  • @endorphine7: I wish it was as easy as begging but it’s not. If you know anything about contract rates you’d know what I earn is ok but not that high. As for these one dollar stores I may check them out.

    • I lost it not having enough money at the checkout of Woolies.

  • Their staff will thanks you a lot XD

    • When she clicked and said, "Omg… Wow… You just made a double fillet o fish for cheaper. I can do that too with my staff discount"

  • Lol loving that hack tag

  • +1

You know there isn't a lot happening in people's lives when a fillet o fish burger offends them.

  • +6

How stupid and not guaranteed it's a no from me

  • +2

I don't know what's worse, the shitty save 10c "hack" or this..

    Y'all need to stop

    • Haha. I love it that you care so much. Thx for not negging

  • +1

I admire anyone who can take up the embarrassment and actually did this.

    • -1

To avoid not having enough money at a grocery store checkout… I'm being inventive to stretch my dollar.

  • +1

This is the kind of thing that my mum would do.

I'm proud of you, OP. Being this cheap takes time and effort, but isn't that why we're all here?

    • We're cheap but majority of us still have our dignity

      • +1

Does that include all the people who boast about creating multiple email addresses to take advantage of "new customer" deals with companies like Spotify, Hello Fresh and Uber Eats?

I guess it's a matter of opinion, but I wouldn't call that dignified.

        • People that boast about it probably would do this, I find just the thought of doing it embarrassing

          • +1

@Wilder94: Yes. There is shame loss.
But; when I'm cheap and need to stretch every dollar.

      • +1

When you go to maccas there is a sign saying leave your dignity at the door.

      • +1

Being a few dollars short at the grocery store with a long line behind is more shameful in my opinion.

      • +1

        I'm cheap.
        You… Thrifty at best.

  • Hack? Damn last time I had a big mac meal they were $4.90 and that was for the large. What are they worth these days?

  • Love it! Thank you! The Filet o Fish is awesome!

    • +1

      Haha…

      Happy meal can alter
      $1cheesebuger alter
      Small cheeseburger meal alter

      More ideas

      • These things are there in the system, it's pretty interesting how you've come up with them!

Keep at it my man, don't worry about the haters, they need help if a funny way to make a fish big Mac upsets them.

  • +5

Yeah, that's gonna be a nah from me. The poor employees don't deserve the drams

    • +2

Notice how the same ingredients can cost you $7 less if you ask it my method.

McD corps r raking it in.

  • +5

What's the next deal? Place your order, grab it and run away without making the payment?

    • Stealing is bad. Mkay.

I push 10x trollies and get this for dinner.
      (Lucky if I find a $2 trolley)

  • +1

Let me sum up with tldr:

Cheese burger bun only: 40c via app
    2 fish parties: $3.20
    Tartare sauce: 50c

    Put them together yourself.

    • +3

I wonder if OP realises he could save 50c by going to all the fish n chip shops on the way to maccas and asking for tartare sauce ???
