  • What is this?

    • Essentially, this provides remote cloud access to ubnt unifi networks - allowing you to log in remotely

kinda, but its also about management of the devices locally as well

        • Devices can all be managed locally via the app, with unifi controller software running locally. The biggest advantage to this - you don't need to set up public ip/server/port forwarding to remote in

@dantione: You still need to set up the controller for the app to connect to, i think you missed that step

            • @asa79: Not at all, but buying a device solely to "reap" the benefits you've indicated seems pretty pointless. If all you are achieving, in spending $287, is what a free piece of software will give you… Go for it.

              • @dantione: You said it was only for connecting remotely, I just fixed that up to say you need it to connect locally so not sure why the negs.

Unless you know how you can run it without the controller software installed?

                • @asa79: Key benefit of buying the product is remote access… I'm not going to outline every single feature but that's primarily why most people buy it (cloud access)

    • It's a controller for a Ubiquiti UniFi networks and IP Camera NVR

  • Good deal. Really only worth getting this if you're interested in buying their POE cameras and setting up Protect.
