Olive oil - started using it on high end walking boots. It just lasts all winter - doesn't seem to wash out. Doesn't stretch the leather or make it too soft either; it's amazing really. We've been using it on our leather couches once a year now for a few years - colour hasn't changed or anything like that. Just pick a warm day so that it can soak in quickly, then no buffing off.
