  • How colour accurate is the screen?

    • +1

Color coverage is approximately 54 percent and 82 percent of the AdobeRGB and sRGB standards, respectively. This is similar to the displays on the Acer Predator 17 X and older Alienware 17 R3 and about average for a high-end gaming notebook. Certain competitors offer full sRGB coverage like the MSI GT73VR or Razer Blade Pro, though these alternatives may not have the same QHD/120 Hz/G-Sync options like our Alienware. For gaming purposes, however, response times and contrast generally take precedence over color accuracy.

Different CPU but same model I think

Only if it was an 8750H

  • The Dell G7 looks good with 8750H.

  • Please forgive the noob question, but what's the difference between a "gaming laptop" and say, a Thinkpad X1 Extreme? I notice that the Dell G7 above comes with a better CPU and GPU. Do gaming laptops generally come with better specs for a lower price at the cost of portability and/or build quality?

    • Also better RAM and dual storage (SSD+HDD).

what smokey said above, and better internal cooling system too. so it doesnt overheat too quickly for long gaming sessions

  • Haha, took too long to decide on the ASUS and now sold out. Was a good deal.

    Good prices, crap products

    • Why crap products?

      • I've got an M17 R4 from 2012, it's been great, upgraded a few things in it over the years. Only main issue I had was with the screen, had Dell come to my place and replace it.
