Is that bad?
On a 15.6'' Laptop it's cancer. I have used several of them and I will never in my life use this terrible res on a screen bigger than 13'' again. If you have this much money then just save yourself the trouble. Also all of the laptops I used that had this res also had some of the most washed out colours, making the entire thing even worse.
Yes
Deal should be negged on this alone. Along with having a mechanical drive.
TN HD panel. don't break your eyes!
this kind of laptops needs investment.
1. replace hdd with ssd
2. replace the screen with a proper panel
but still you'll be stuck with mediocre body and weak keyboard. not worth the money paid.
You can do those things but it won't be a $797 laptop anymore.
correct, you can buy a $500 HP off eBay and do the same, and the build quality will be on par with this pedestrian specimen
Are we still living in the 90s? Screen Resolution 1366 x 768?????
Gerry Harvey is and he thinks we all are brainless and jump on this deal. The truth is it is available in the market because people are buying it.
Just get the Thinkpad E580 when it's on sale on eBay, you'll get the real thinkpad features (Trackpoint, Docking fingerprint reader, easy user upgrades for dual storage) and optional discrete Radeon GPU
Please advise if this is a good buy- https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Lenovo-ThinkPad-E580-15-6-inch-F…
a new unit is $969, graysonline is overcharging for a refurb unit.
For 20% less I would consider but current price is a ripoff, I'd buy from Lenovo and use cashback.
Is this one ok? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/439996
@red-hot: with 10 percent cashback, it's not too bad of a deal.
Mechanical drive and a 15" screen @ 768p is a bad purchase.
When somebody asks me for suggestions on what computer to buy - I tell them:
Make those two choices and the rest doesn't really matter as much.
3-. Dont buy from Hardly Normal.
Lenovo Not IdealPad.
Slow HDD
Cheap, plasticy build quality
Awful low res TN screen
Also slightly cheaper here. But honestly, don't buy this junk.
