Not the best value in terms of $/GB but if you just need a spare 1TB drive, it doesn't get any better than this right now.

Also available in other colours at the same price.

Horrible bloatware that forces installation on this drive.
Much prefer the WD Elements if you are going to buy a WD.

  Wait, really? I thought the weird "Backup" or "Encryption" software came stored in the drive and you could just delete it.
  
  To be fair, I haven't bought an External drive for quite a while so maybe they've changed their practices.

    Yes, the Smartware software creates some sort of virtual CD & its hard to remove:

    I haven't tested the current generation of drives, so its possible it is different now.

      I was considering getting a Passport cause of the elegant design (that's how I came across the deal), but you saved me.
