Looks like it doesn't come with the 3 games from the AMD rewards.

While it's great to see the 590's price finally reflecting its performance and therefore quite an attractive purchase around the price point, for those who play with the 2nd hand market I would still recommend picking up a Vega 56 for a tad more. Or a 1070 for <$300 if you can find one.

Otherwise this is a great buy and actually seems to hold its own quite well against some of the newer mid range cards closer to this price. Will be very interesting to see what AMD manage with 7nm and GDDR6 in the mid range later this year!
It really shouldn't be too hard to take on the 2060 with a chip nearly half the size!

    • They're not good with efficiency. If nVidia had the same nm die size, it would outperform the Radeon and use less power. It's why AMD can't compete on the high end.

how do you pick up a new vega 56 for a little more?

Where are you finding a Vega 56 for anywhere near $400, or a 1070 for <$300?
At a quick lookaround, I can't find a Vega 56 for cheaper than $450, which is a fair bit more than this deal. Aside from a couple of deals around $100 (which seems a little bit off) for a 1070, I can't find one for any better than $340ish :(

    • I wholly agree with this statement - i bought a mint condition used 1070 for $450 mid last year before the launch of the 2000 series cards. A good condition second hand 1070 is miles ahead and should cost only $350 now. Also, mining cards should be fine, I had a second hand mining card prior to my 1070 for 3 years that worked just fine and i've heard most mining cards still have pretty good life left. I believe even LTT had a video about this being the case

      • ohh secondhand cards with zero real warranty- I don't count anything under 6 months as worth the effort…

        • Uhm, this offer is for a product shipped from the US with US warranty. Your warranty lasts as long as Amazon is willing to honor it and refund you for return shipping. Otherwise you'll have to find a way to have it shipped to the US at your own cost for warranty claims beyond that.

There are tons of 'but of course' and asterisks to the above statement and I admit you're right in that one would give up the right to warranty claims by buying second hand. That said, buying new from an international reseller is not the same as buying new locally and second hand is a good option to consider, especially from a reputation based marketplace like Ebay.

          • @bpop99: 'i bought a mint condition used 1070 for $450 mid last year before the launch of the 2000 series cards'

from amazon us with a full warranty?

  • Thing I want to know is… Does Freesync consideration carry more weight vs. say… a GTX 1660 Ti @ $70 more & ~+8%fps & thermal efficiency?

    • NVidia supports Adaptive Sync over DP now on Pascal cards and newer. Though should probably check your individual monitor for how it actually performs.

    • $70 more = $416. Please link :)
On a side note, for me the answer to your question is yes. Even if it was anywhere near +8% fps, it would still be yes. It's also to do with customer service and other aspects that I just feel AMD does better, but it's up to the individual.

    $304 with cashback

  • Is that Australian Dollars?

    • +1

      yes

  • Delivery is Thursday, 4 April - Wednesday, 10

In comparison, a 580 can be bought locally for $320

    • But this one's BLUE

      • Nah, it's sapphire. They make the best AMD cards.

*And because I just realised sapphire is also blue, I meant the company.

Still not close to worth it

  • I got a vega 56 second hand for 350. It was used for mining but I've had no issues with it

  • I k is nothing about graphics card.

Am I better off buying a RX 580 8gb for $299 or this deal for $35 more?

I’d only be gaming at 1080p and want to play on highest possible settings.

Are prices meant to fall further ?

    • IMO, paying the best you can afford is generally a good option, since both sides generally price on a scale of performance anyway. If you're willing to spend time hunting for good second hand alternatives on Ebay, you'd be able to stretch your dollar more.
