  • Got this but mine is $50 per week for 3 weeks (targeted)

    • $90pw here lol

$60 pw for 3 weeks for me. I have completed 4 weeks of $50 pw and 10,000 points just last week so they tried to get me with this shitty one. Will miss them for a while until a better offer shows up. :)

        Same here.
Just collected the 10k for the 4x $50 a week spend.
Prior to that was a similar deal to this, 1k+2k+3k but for $40 each week.

        Wont be using this Deal.

      • Aye same here. The last time I did a 4x shop, back to back with their 3x shop….woolworths came in with a sweet deal of 4x$50 on the second week. Hoping that'll pull through again

Four of my accounts are $50 also. Works out at 20% off usually it's 25%.

  • Mine $220 :(

    • +2

      Hey big spender…

      • Guess we just do most shopping there. I had similar one for woolies last year being $50 week.

        • +3

You know if you're spending that much. you can always split the spending across 4 cards and get 4X the amount of points. I know that's what I would do.

    • hahahaha

  • Mines $230 per week. No way can I spend that much each week.

    • +1

Get a new card then so the min spend is lower.

  • Mines $150. No need to spend that much…

  • +5

    Thanks OP.

    I just checked i got $40 weekly spend :O

I can't believe it. Mine is normally over $100 spend but i held off using my Flybuys card for a while :)

  • Both my Coles cards are $70 per week for 6000 points

  • +1

$50 here… I may have to follow in Monty's lead and stop using my flybuys card for a while.

I just finished up a 10k points bonus for $50 spend a week for 4 weeks.

For 6k points, $40/week is fair. Not really sure how $100/wk is justified.

I have no such offer on my active flybuys, but got the email for dormant flybuys account. It's time to make dormant active.

  • $100 for me πŸ™. Locked in to earning Virgin status credits… good that you don’t have to do all 3 weeks.

Few weeks ago it was spend $50 for 4 weeks for 10,000 points. This time spend $60 for 3 weeks for 6000 points. Mmm no thanks Coles. Hello there Woolworths

    • +1

      1 - ($50*4 / ($50x4+10,000 points)) = 20% off

      1 - ($40*3 / ($40*3+6,000 points)) = 20% off

It's the same discount, after all. πŸ˜‰

      • +2

Not for everyone though. I also got targeted with the 'spend $60 for 3 weeks for 6000 points'. If it were $40 for 3 weeks and 6000 points I would take it.

      • @ O OLet me break it down for you.

        2000 points equals to $10

        First offer

        $50*4 = $200 total spend ( Earns 10,000 points which is $50)

        Discount percentage

        50/200*100 = 25%

        Second offer now

        $60*3 = $180 ( Earns 6000 points which is $30)

        Discount percentage

        30/180*100 = 16.67%

        Hope this helps you πŸ™‚

But nevertheless bonus is a bonus. People who got $40 spend are lucky. Anyone who has to spend extra aren't getting the same value as before.

But the majority of the time, those points are going to be spent at Coles. So $200 spend to get 10000 points (or $50) is actually $50 off $250 spend, so a 20% saving.

The example O O gave for the 6000 point offer was also correct. $40x3 = $120 spend to get 6000 points (or $30), so $150 worth of stuff from Coles for $120 = 20% saving.

Yes, it's different for a $60 spend, which wasn't O O's example, but was mentioned in the comment he replied to. For $60x3, the spend is $180 for $210 worth. A 14.3% saving.

Edit: Actually, since the points come in as you spend with the 3x offer, the total purchase required isn't as high. Lets say you start with 0 points:
          Spend $40 = get 1000 points
          Spend $40 = get 2000 points - redeem for $10 off
          Spend $40-10 = get 3000 points - redeem for $20 off
Buy another $20 worth of goods for nothing.
          Total purchased $140. Total spent $110. Discount = 21.43%

If you start with at least 1000 points, it's a little different:
Spend $40 = get 1000 points. Redeem with your own 1000 points for $10 off.
          Spend $40-10 = get 2000 points - redeem for $10 off
          Spend $40-10 = get 3000 points - redeem 2000 for $10 off. Original 1000 replenished.
Buy another $10 worth of goods for nothing.
          Total purchased $130. Total spent $100. Discount = 23.08%

And for $60 starting with 0 points:
          Spend $60 = get 1000 points
          Spend $60 = get 2000 points - redeem for $10 off
          Spend $60-10 = get 3000 points - redeem for $20 off
Buy another $20 worth of goods for nothing.
          Total purchased $200. Total spent $170. Discount = 15%

Finally $60 with at least 1000 points already banked:
Spend $60 = get 1000 points. Redeem with your own 1000 points for $10 off.
          Spend $60-10 = get 2000 points - redeem for $10 off
          Spend $60-10 = get 3000 points - redeem 2000 for $10 off. Original 1000 replenished.
Buy another $10 worth of goods for nothing.
          Total purchased $190. Total spent $160. Discount = 15.79%

@puffinfresh: The $40 spend is after all discounts taken into effect.
So by using 1000 points on the second week, it would have to be over $50 groceries to make the minimum $40 spend

            • @Spending2Much: Nope. If you convert your points to Flybuy Dollars, it acts like any other payment method.

              • @puffinfresh: Didn't know could do that. I've had a couple of these 1k+2k+3k (etc) promotions.
Will definitely do that next time. (At Coles)
Woolies does the automatic $10 off, which as far as I understand, doesn't count toward the minimum spend, (unless selected Qantas points or Save for Xmas)

                • @Spending2Much: I think the $10 off doesn't affect minimum spend at Woolies either, even when it applies automatically. I've rarely had offers from them though, so I'm not 100%.

  • I got 6000 for 140 for 3 :(

  • $50 for 3 here

  • I got nothing. I just came off a 4x$60 for 10000 points that I actually completed when I didn't think I would spend that much. Chances are they would have upped it to $70 this time around. Time to switch to Woolworths/Aldi for a bit, but who am I kidding, Coles is closer.

  • I got the $40 target for the 3 weeks. I'll be taking it up. It's rare that I get the $40 targets. Usually it is $50.
