You seem to have a lot of issues with my posts recently. I went to the trouble of calling Mobileciti and negotiating this deal with a bespoke code so if you believe that requires an association flag, feel free to report it to the mods. Please don’t jump to too many conclusions. All this overthinking is not healthy for you.
@bellpop …. don't see why you'd say TA is ashamed of anything when he has specifically told you what he did to get this deal for everyone! If anything, shame on you for undue accusation!
Shame! Shame! Shame! ♪♫♬cowbell♪♫♬
Awesome, good work. You didn’t want to negotiate a special code with them for the iPhone XS by any chance? :P
Possibly not helpful but if you are friendly with a Telstra staffer or contractor they may be willing to exercise a current internal offer of a Google Pixel 2 XL 64GB Black/White for $499. Has to be accessed from Telstra's EDN (internal network), paid by paypal (yep!) and shipped within Australia. Offer has a google mini thrown in, which could be kept or given away.
wow, that's a good deal. perhaps the staff who posted the s10 1/2 price deals can help. :)
There's also Pixel Buds for $100 with Google Mini too
Is this a part of the telstra deal?
Not that i know of. Hope so but. I’ll check tomorrow
Yes
wow, i need to find a telstra friend!!!
Good post, bought one.
How are you guys managing to get this internal deal? Just talking to the Telstra shop?
Have a friend who works there.
If anyone can help me with telstra deal would be really appreciated pm please
To get the phone for $499 do you have to subscribe to a $55 or $65 monthly plan? I have been looking to buy a phone with good camera on a budget for a while. Any help would be really appreciated.
Hi all - about to pull the trigger on this - but before I do, is anyone having any joy with finding a Telstra rep who can assist with purchasing via EDN?
PM is fine is there's concern about precedent etc.
Thanks!!
I'm eagerly awaiting the release of the Pixel 3 lite (rumoured too be released in the first half of this year)
https://www.businessinsider.com.au/google-pixel-3-lite-total…
Yep, a cheaper version of a cheap phone. Can only end well…. Although perhaps they will qa this one and ensure that it actually makes high quality calls even! I somehow doubt it.
$800 is a cheap phone to you? Yikes… someone bought into the Apple/Samsung hype a bit too much.
Cheaply made….. And very expensive.
Nothing beats iPhones which bend in your pocket without much effort
And it's still worth more than any android in resale.
@onlinepred: Depreciates more than any other android too
@customundo: What does? Pixels?
Please note Jb has $300 off Pixel 3 range now - The cheapest being $899 for pixel 3 64 GB-
https://www.jbhifi.com.au/phones/Outright-Mobile-Handsets/?p…
just got the email from jb and about to mention that too. :)
Was just going to post this! I think for the extra dollars it is well worth it.
Although I must say that the Pixel 2 I have is the best phone I've ever owned.
Dunno why the downvote. I didn't buy a Pixel 2 XL just a standard Pixel 2 and love it.
Screen made by LG, thanks for the post OP but nope LG can go to hell :-)
I rather like LG.
So you won't mind the blue hue on the screen or washed out colours then ;-)

LG make the best OLEDs in the world.
LG are well behind samsungon phone oled tech
Pixel 2 XL screen has terrible black crush and smearing at low brightness, I went through a bunch of copies of the pixel 2 XL to try and find a decent one, as I use low light a lot, these issues were a deal breaker. Unfortunate as a great phone otherwise
Have Pixel 3 had these screen issues?
agreen i have p2xl the screen is really not match a flagship title (2017)
Say that to people who got green tint on mate 20 pro
LG only makes decent TVs not phones
This or s10e?
If you have the extra $400 the s10e.
This if you prefer the camera, s10e if you want a decent screen
This if you want a slightly better camera, s10e of you want better everything else.
The Pixel still does not have macro, optical zoom, wide angle. Sure, you just point and shoot with both phones, sit and compare then, zoom in and analyse them (which clearly you always do?), then you would never notice. Also you know that you can get GCAM on the S10 right?
This is if you want a better camera and android experience, S10E if you think wireless charging is worth the extra $$
Pixel also has wireless charging.
not on the 2 XL
S10 if you want to make calls, use headphones, use bluetooth, use speakers, use apps etc.
How is this still so expensive?!
Am I missing something? Is this worth $755 in 2019 being 2 generations old?
I'd never pay that price, i'm hoping a Telstra team member in Perth can sell me one for $499.
1.4 generations
It's the same generation as the S8 and S8+, and we are now up to S10, so that's 2 generations to me.
This should be priced similar to the iPhone X with that logic so the price makes it a bargain without a doubt
@TA, any deals on Pixel 3 or 3 XL?
my Pixel 1 is still going strong, tough as nails this little phone, android 9…and the fingerprint sensor much better than the S7 one.
I'll sell it next week and get a Pixel 3Thanks TA!
If you could negotiate a Deal on iPhone XS Max would be great.Google are doing well at controlling the selling prices of their products with their retailers! .. just like an Apple!
Oh well .. at least my Pixelbook sold for an awesome price after 18 mnths of use!
Had my Pixel 2 XL beginning of 2018 and still going very strong. Love the phone. No screen issues, no lag, battery life still great. Yes there were complaints about screen etc but honestly haven't noticed any issues. My first Android switching over from iPhones and loving it so far!
How is it a deal for such old phone ? All phone makers are starting to think like Apple .
That's the reason why I switched over to Chinese makers. So much better value for money
