I have the Lifx and the Yeelight light strips. save your money and buy the Yeelight, these 2 are about the same and i'm guessing the Lifx one is the same as the Hue one.

    • Do you have a link to the Yeelight? I can't find anything with a domestic plug.

The cheapest yeelight strip is now around $60 AUD delivered.
The original yeelight strip was sold for around $30 AUD delivered.
The newer model has replaced the original and no one has stock of the old ones for quite sometime.
And this Phillips hue light strip was $80 odd from Bunnings and Amazon.com.au a few weeks ago..I bought some.

    • Current Hue Led Strip is RGBW led strip. So the white is quite bright.
1st gen Hue Led Strip was RGB - white output was average.
Can't find any details about Yeeligh.

      Most cheaper options are RGB.

I love these on the back on my TVs, but you can get them for $10 or less on Geek. (I am not affiliated, haha)

    Warm white is best.

    • no way could you get them for $10.

  • I just ordered this light strip as my PC is hooked up to the TV. Some high end TVs have it already installed on the back for the rear light effect.
Previously i bought a light strip for less than $10. Didnt have the bluetooth connectivity, just a little remote with 6 colours on it.
    $100 is huge for 2m.

    • Does the Ali express ambilight work with Xbox one?

      • No. Read the instruction/description, as you need to plug it into a PC to run software. HTPC would suit. The software needs to know the position/number of the light, to display colour at the correct position.

        • Yer I did read it but I wasn't sure there was a workaround to get it to work. I'd only want this for gaming I think.

          • @Jklaro: It would be amazing. Movies too. See if there are apps on the Xbox store for lighting. It wouldn't be convenient to set up on Xbox. I dont think It'll be convenient to setup on PC either

These are the ones I bought from Geek last year. I bought the 1m warm white. Used every day.

Eh, looks like you need to download the Geek app to view.

That's a lot of money. I thought LEDs are meant to be cheap.
I best this costs mere cents to produce.

  • If anyone isn't after smart light strip following are affordable light strips which are RGBW and well made.
