Reference grade Powered down-firing 8 inch Bass-reflex (ported) Subwoofer by Klipsch.
Unfortunately only the same price as the last deal if you are a eBay Plus Member.
Power is rated at 50 watts RMS (150 watts peak) not 150 watts RMS as stated by KG electronic.
Amazon reviews say the sub gets very low, lower than a typical 8 inch woofer and what the specs suggest.
Would pair well with Yamaha YAS-10# series soundbar.
For high volume earth shaking bass to match the volume levels of a proper home theatre, I suggest you spend more and go larger.

  • Frequency response: 38-120 Hz (±3dB)
  • Inputs: Line level/LFE RCA jacks
  • Compact design (roughly 12 x 12 x 12 inches).
  • Low-pass crossover & phase controls allow you to blend the subwoofer's low-frequency tones with other speakers.

Amazon reviews say the sub gets very low, gets as low as a 12” woofer, better than the specs suggest.

Yeah nah not how it works. A 12 in the same series will easily go lower.

50wrms for a sub is a little too on the low side for a dedicated theatre room. For a desk/bedroom or the like, fantastic.

Yes disclaimer I have never owned this woofer and just went off on what reviews on Amazon suggested. I have made an edit to the description. Although I think the frequency response is quite good I agree with you, you simply can’t beat physics.

I think this would pair well with a soundbar, or bookshelf speakers to add deep accurate low-frequencies.

      • Product reviews on most sites are generally pretty average, usually they are extreme one way or another with less than knowledgeable people. Not saying this unit isn't great, I'd just go in with lower expectations.

        • I would say go with common expectations. Lower expectations seems to sound like this will not perform as well as other 8 inch subwoofers.
I was expecting the Amazon review referring to ‘gets as low as a 12-inch’ to be accurate as I expect only a person who has owned a 12-inch woofer would make that statement.
(At least by comparing specs, although it may have been a budget end 12-inch with a sealed enclosure design)

Bigger drivers are one way to get low, more clever designs in portable speakers now days. Single 8 should be able to get plenty low for an appartment size space, but agree the 50w is not likely to be sufficient for making an 8 move a lot of air. Ports, vents, passive radiators and enclosure design make a huge difference with smaller drivers.

      • Yes I agree with everything you said.

  • I'd be all over this if it was the 10-inch model - anyone know where I could get a good deal on that? Been looking to replace my existing Jamo 10-inch sub which after 8 years has had it. My dedicated home theatre room is only a 4mx4m so don't really need anything bigger than a 10-inch sub.
