For some, its not even 10% off. Smashed indeed.

      It should be:
Harris Technology Smashed by Dell Monitor Pricing

      (see what i did there?!?!)

      • Oh I see what you did there!

    Thought that was funny :D

Edit* hardley a bargain.. as said above its cheaper through dell so why deal with HT?

  • +1

HT rep your support is very poor, just try to ring your customer contact number and they are one of the most non helping and non intersted staff. You ask for a discount and they go blank. Every business does discounts and deals but you are 'Hardly Tangible'.

    • +1

lol, ball is now in your court Harris.

    • Thanks for the feedback I have forwarded to our contact centre manager to address

      • +9

…i bet he knows where the delete button is on his emails…

    • +1

I agree. I've also had bad experiences with HT.

An external HDD failed just before warranty expired and HT refused to replace it.

I will never, ever, recommend HT to anyone.

      • I find that hard to believe that we didnt get thie item repaired or replaced whilst it was under warranty

how long ago was this and what location were you dealing with?

        • +2

It is true. I was dealing with your Botany Store.

I even took the matter to Fair Trading. The HT "manager" (could barely keep his pants up even during fair trading proceedings) and his sidekick made up fibs as to how I could have damaged the device by taking it overseas.

I was honest and told you how I used the device and you then misrepresented what I said. All devices in my possession are cared for exceptionally.

As for when, it was some years back now but to this day I have never purchased from HT and have always ensured that people are aware of the lengths HT went to to not replace something which should have been replaced under warranty.

From me alone you have missed out on countless laptop and other technology purchases.

Might sound like sour grapes, but hey, that's business.

        • +1

No wonder that store is no longer their, dodgy

        • +1

It is experiences like this that shouldnt happen in a business like ours, The message the we try to push to our sales teams and store managers is that the customer is king and without them we are nothing and since we are not the cheapest out there (and nor do we want to generally want to be) that our service offer needs to be second to none

I cannot fix the past interaction that you have had and I cannot blame you for not purchasing from us as if this had happened to me I would feel the same way

          Thanks for your feedback

        • +1

I can't "reply" to your latest response, however in it you state:

I cannot fix the past interaction that you have had

Well, you can. You can give it all a fresh look and consider a refund or replacement.

        • Contact me via this site so we can have a chat to rectify the issue

        • +1

I will contact you over the next few days — have a lot on at the moment.

I appreciate your offer and, for transparency, shall report back herein regarding what (if anything) we've agreed to.

      • Hmm with these kinds of posts maybe its worth spending the extra to buy else where.

    • Oh I see what you did there!

  • +1

    Title is misleading..

    • how is the title misleading?

      • +3

Should be "Harris Technology Smashed by Dell Monitor Pricing" per diamondtouch1's post above

        • -1

Title updated I hope this is all okay now

Thanks for all the great feedback

        • +1

it is better but read ozpetes post below :)

      • +1

        Read diamondtouch1 post above :)

Basically you are not smashing the prices… Come back with a bigger discount !

      • The title should include details of the deal - a generic wording like you have is a no no. You must change to be more specific, like for example

        X Monitor $XX save $YY plus more… Harris Tech

        http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:deal_posting_guideline…

        and more specifically

        http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:title_guidelines

Please reflect these in an edit, otherwise the post will be removed

        • So how can I list six offers in one listing then?

because with the current rules I cannot lodge six different posts

        • +4

Looking at your history of posts one deal you did was this:

          http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/29986

          '
HP Pavilion i7 only $1497.00 and Fantastic prices on a wide range of other Great Notebook Deals!
          '

maybe something like that? (except related to screens)

  • +1

this is more like a advertisement, rather than Price Smash/Reduce!!

bring some real deal, then we will call it a deal!

  • Still quite pricey….

  • +1

    Definitely - NO DEAL.

  • +2

Yeah, supposed to post deals, not minor price reductions where the competition already has you beat.
Regardless of how you reword your title. still no deal to speak of, and bad PR for Harris.

  • Ahh yes reminds me of the last meeting with HT they didnt really get this social media stuff, looks like it may be worth pursuing now hey :)

Seems like they are getting it now ……. just

  • +4

In their defence, there have been some good deals posted here for HT in the past (two of them being the cashback deal on MS Lazer keyboard/mouse ended up costing $20 and their logitech WiLife clearence). This is probably not the best but at least their rep is being respectful.

    • +1

It looks like the rep is someone different as he didnt know how to title correctly, while in the past they did. But at least the fixed up the issue of the title :) I am looking for a new screen but no rush

    • There's been heaps of good deals actually, its the delivery that needed the work. I like the way the rep is handling it :)

The 2.99 digital photo keyring was my favourite……..

    • +4

yeap, thumbs up to the rep for doing his job and maintaining his dignity whilst facing feedback that could be phrased nicer, but after all, this IS ozbargain haha.

      • +1

yeah, unlike some other reps who threaten to report you for 'personal attacks'… lol…

        • +2

Well I must say that I have learnt a thing or two today about Ozbargain posting :)

          Thanks All

      • +2

As a rep you'd have to identify OzBargain as a double edged sword situation. You'll either make a big impression and sell a bunch of product, or be beaten from pillar to post by internet tough guys if unpopular. Amusing all the same.

  • Apart from the 27" they are all better prices than dells site even with the the 15% coupon deals or am i missing another coupon ?

ps it's funny when you can add all the monitors to your cart on dells site and it calculates the coupons discounts :) I wish i had the cash to hit checkout ..

  • +1

I don't know about the others but the price for the U2311h is decent. I bought one just over a week ago for $254 from dell with the 15% discount coupon.

  • U2311 seems a good price to me.

Its $5 less than I paid from HT recently.

Dell usually does them for $250 iirc….

Post beaten by 11 seconds lol :)

  • +1

needn't sell any dell or logitech products, they always sell at cheap price.

    • Huh?

      • +1

Trying to decrypt this myself, but I think he means:

[HT] needn't sell any dell or logitech products, they [logitechshop.com.au and dell.com.au] always sell at cheap price.

        Maybe? Haha.

        • Wow Plopz, good job :), that actually makes sense

  • +1

WHAT KIND OF BARGAIN IS THIS??
    Dell 27" U2711 was $768 now $736
4.3% off the marked price OMG WHAT A BARGAIN!!!!

in case you can't read it's full of sarcasam.

less than 5% on anything is not a bargain

  • +2

I'm sorry, this is a neg from me. More and more businesses are using Ozbargain as a intermediary to sell there so-called 'deals/bargains' hoping to gain some sales from consumers who are less aware of competitive prices.

If the price is generally 10% or more off relative to another retailer's prices then yes go for it but if its like 20% off RRP don't bother posting in this site about your 'deals'.

When I first joined (wasn't too long ago) I remember generally a majority of each posting was an actual bargain, nowadays due to its popularity, companies try to take advantage of the website's reputation by selling sh!t at dumb prices. Don't take it too personally but looking at this deal just brings back the memories of fail threads like these. Sorry but no.

  • Misleading advertising, product cheaper elsewhere.

    • where else is it cheaper?

      • Directly from Dell.

If your not sure who they are, have a crack here: www.google.com

        • -1

Dells pricing is mentioned above and everyone of my prices are cheaper

  • +2

ozbargains should be for Bargains. Not what i would consider normal dell prices.
    -1 here also

    • +1

agreed, at this rate "REPS" shouldn't be allowed, if their prices were any good someone on here would have posted them up already. Probably just someone working in the advertising department told to go "post"(spam) on Ozbargain hoping they might dupe some poor fools.

  • +1

Good work by the rep here, sticking around and answering posts.

But I got a 2711 from Dell the other day for $679, just by ringing and talking to them. (As a result of that price, I bought two.)
