Monthly offers are looking less appealing each time. And with the impending amex point devaluation… well

    • What’s this devaluation about btw? Any link?

    • The devaluation doesn't effect all Amex cards, my card it actually makes my points earning better. Plat Charge

      • Are you sure? I thought triple points in Restaurants will be gone. Hope my understanding is wrong?!

        • That will but everything across the board increase to 2.25 points per dollar so better overall.

But burning those points will cost you more. Easily accounts for any increase in earn rate.

        • Incorrect also.

Regarding Webjet, the $50 you get basically just covers a booking fee they charge, that on top of mediocre fares.

    • so true

    • Don't they just charge the same fares as booking directly through the ariline (plus their own booking fee)? Where are the best places to book for cheaper than directly through the airline for domestic flights?

      • Just book directly, I only use sites like Webjet to see what's available, then go directly. Webjet's booking fee's are silly and a pisstake.

If they didn't have shop small (although that is getting worse too with less providers) I would cancel my AMEX cards now. I downgraded both cards to one fee free card just for offers. These recent offers have all been lousy though

Got stung last time by buying something from Hugo Boss at DFO. Check the store you're purchasing at is listed!

    • Ouch. Only in-store and only NSW locations listed.
