Error fare! Not from Aus, but if anyone is going to these areas any time soon, they could surely be used in combination with something else, or as a present for someone in the area?

Found via secretflying (https://www.secretflying.com/posts/error-fare-penang-malaysi…)

Some of their dates are already gone, but check anyway in case, and the following still work for me:

https://www.skyscanner.com/transport/d/PEN/2019-05-06/HKT/HK…

Good luck!

edit - looks like they're all gone now. Hope someone benefited!

yeah, like I said, only really useful if going to that area, but hey, if a expensive Tesla post gets thousands of people interested (ozb email newsletter today), then hopefully this one will be able to help some people. And it's a bargain for sure.

          Wow, what a dick.

        • +2

          Maybe read the OzBargain guidelines…
          Meets Deal Posing Guidelines

        • +3

Nope Eid forcing you to take, or even look at, this deal. For certain people this would be extremely helpful

        • +1

That is such a dumb conclusion

Well it is still about AUSTRALIANS isn't it.

Who says we need to be defined by your definition of this site?

        • +1

Perhaps start sharing some deals from Australia then?

        • +1

I'm australian, there was a time last year I would have loved to have taken advantage of this fare. I don't think they have to be bargains specifically for places in Australia, people post bargains for places like Japan etc all the time. The fact of the matter is a lot of people on Ozbargain travel to Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia etc so this deal is relevant to many people. Just because it's not useful to YOU doesn't mean no one else wants to see it. The rule is that bargains posted on this website have to be "deals that are available to Australia." and this is available to Australians, so uh.. if you don't like it, scroll on?

          • -3

@Elision: Then every deal is available to Australians unless you have to show ID from another country, Should I post Hot Dogs in Vegas on special at 7/11 ?

            • +5

@UberIsCool: That's a ridiculous example and you know it. I'm only quoting the actual ozbargain rules (Infidel posted the full guideline that I was trying to find below) so at the end of the day you can post whatever you want, either the mods will decide whether it's relevant/useful enough for Australians or the votes will. This deal is useful because of the potential to save a decent chunk of money on something a decent amount of Australians could potentially use, most people wouldn't care enough about discounted hotdogs for it to be considered a good bargain. If it was for heavily discounted Disney park tickets available to Australians or discounted train tickets for Japan etc then yes, you should post it.. because people will actually care.

@UberIsCool: People post travel stuff all the time. Especially Sim cards for travel around Europe/Asia. This particular bargain is of exceptional quality and is worth a post, even in Australia.

Just take a chill pill maaaaaaate.

              @UberIsCool: please do

This is not necessarily pricing error.

I was flying in that area e.g. Penang/Langkawi/KL for 50-60 ringgit return (~12-15 USD).

AirAsia and Malindo are regularly cutting each other's fares (and sometimes Firefly, Thai Smile, etc. join the rush), there are lots of bargains to be found.

And considering that population of Aussies in Phuket at any time might be larger than in some of our state capitals, this sure is OzBargain post.

    • yeah i have flown on super low price flights on airasia. $20 return phuket - KL . Phuket- udon return $15 . every so often they release these seats sometimes with out advertising it.
