MSI GTX1660Ti 6GB Gaming X $458.15 + $15 Delivery (Free with eBay Plus) @ Computer Alliance eBay

200
PCVID15

Flagship GTX 1660 Ti delivered for $458 / $473.
Retailers are selling for $509 + delivery. So that's a $51 discount.

Identical average performance to the GTX 1070 (best deals are currently north of $500) based on this 33-game mega benchmark review:
https://www.techspot.com/review/1799-geforce-gtx-1660-mega-b…

Perfect for 1440p @ 60 FPS or 1080p @ 100 FPS on max settings.

Also of note; shallothead is selling:
* Gigabyte 1660Ti (base version) for $449.10 delivered
* Windforce version for $458.10 delivered
* Gaming version for $480.60 delivered.
The MSI card in this deal is on par with the Gaming version, hence being the best deal IMO.
The flagship models are certainly worth the very small price premium as they will run both cooler and quieter and should provide slightly higher stable overclocks.

Also consider used GTX 1070's (Gumtree, Facebook Marketplace & eBay auction [eBay auction is the most expensive]).
Base models with receipt can be had for ~$300, whilst flagship models can be had for ~$350.

Enjoy!

I would also consider the RTX 2060 for ~$68 more

    • +2

Yup, as low as $50 more if you grabbed the Galax one from Futu/Shopping Express the other day.

Not the same calibre of fans in either case, though, so probably worth stepping up to the Windforce OC @ $535 from CA.

You're comparing a base model (hot, loud, no bells and whistles) to a flagship model (cool, quiet, bling + extras).
On pure FPS per dollar the 2060 wins, but for some its more than sheer performance (Eg. I want low temps for higher overclocking, as quiet as possible as my case sits up on the desk right next to me [I can hear even under-volted low rpm internal fans] and a high-quality appearance as the case has a side-window). Depends what you're after.
I've had EX (Galax) and Windforce, but now I'm only really interested in Strix, Aorus, FTW and Gaming X.

      • 10-20% more performance for 7% price…. the noise comparison is sooooo irrelevant. A decibel here and there that can be attributed to a variety of factors including install, bad batch, case, brand…

        • Wrong. I've had cheap and flagship. The noise difference can be massive. One you can barely hear in a silent room, the other sounds like a leafblower over the top of a logitech 2.1.
Its the design. More heat pipes and more/larger fans plus going from a solid aluminum block to high density fin array all make big differences.

          • @Viper8: Wrong. This is OzBargain. Stop pretending all other GPUs are noisier. You bought an over priced lemon and you are trying to justify your purchase.

The 2060 leaves this for dead in value and performance.

            • @scuderiarmani: What a troll.
Its not a decibel here and there, its over 10 (look up 1070 comparison reviews).
A lemon, lol, yes the best are lemons, whilst the cheap trash are bargains.
I'm done feeding the troll. No more replies for you.

              • @Viper8: Yeah who cares about performance. I buy a GPU cause it looks good….

Spare me. Enjoy your lesser performance.

  • Will decent brand drop to 400$?

  • I got the 660ti without the 1 in front. Will I get double performance if I upgrade to this one?

    • Yes, at least

  • -1

Equivalent to 1070Ti, not 1070. And Gogabyte rtx2060 is just a little bit more than this. I would rather go with that.

    • -1

Did you look at the review I linked (33 game average) or just base this off the synthetic benchmarks doing the rounds on IT websites?

      • -1

Oh what a surprise… the original poster is trying to justify his purchase when multiple others suggest a 2060 is the better buy…. how about not attack others for having an opinion, least of all when multiple have the same and a review backs it up.

        • Nice try troll, I have a 1070. Try again.
I state facts, you make the attacks.
          Love to see those reviews.

          • +1

@Viper8: Facts? I showed a review.. You said the card looks better.

            Gimme a break.

  • -2

This card is pointless next to a cheap 2060.

    • I’m in the market for a new card and like the sound of the 1660ti. What advantage does the 2060 offer? I don’t need/want ray-tracing (do I?). To me they seem very similar but the 1660 better value?

      • -2

        https://www.techspot.com/amp/review/1799-geforce-gtx-1660-me…

No idea why I offended someone. A cheap 2060 is $500. It's better in every way and has additional features. 10-20% or so.

        • -1

Its cooler, quieter, better looking, better overclocking potential?
          Please…

          • -1

@Viper8: Cooler? So get a better case or select one with a better fan…
Quieter? My 2080 is dead silent on idle and not much worse when spinning up, I doubt a 2060 is loud.
Better looking? uh whatever, it's a side, you can't see anything else in 99.99% of installs and that's just personal opinion
Better Overclocking? Many wouldn't go near that.

How about 10-20% better performance out of the box and additional features for $30-40 more? That's the only thing that matters.

      • +1

2060 still performs better than 1660Ti and it has bigger headrooms for OC to 2070 level easily.

Ray tracing aside, there is also DLSS which improves performance further.

But DLSS is controversial at the moment, as BF5 requires you to turn on Ray tracing to enable DLSS while 2060 is too weak for Ray tracing. Not sure if this is Nvidia's doing or game dev.

and some reported shit DLSS IQ on BF5 while Metro looks fine.

    • Comparing flagship of one model to povo spec of another. Ok then. See above response to similar comment.

      • +1

Irrelevant…. justifying a purchase of a GPU that costs 7% less than a GPU that delivers 10-20% more performance and has additional features… good luck with that.

        • -3

Yes we get it, you're cheap and buy trash model cards. Next…

          • @Viper8: Lol how do you know what I have???

Maybe I like most in this thread want others to get better value for money. Kinda what this site is…

You make it sound like you are better calling others povo cards. That's just pathetic. Yet they perform better… Lol.

  • $458 for 1070 level performance, good saving on the card comparatively I guess, hence the post, but there was that deal on 1060s for $188 and I can’t justify the price gap.

    • Guess it depends on whether or not you have a 1440p / high refresh rate monitor. If you do, the 1060 simply isn't an option, regardless of how cheap it is.
Also I used to have a budget 1060, and it ran 10 degrees hotter and significantly louder than my flagship 1070. So there's that as well (cheaper cooler vs best cooler).
Still an insane deal at that price though and would definitely go for it if you have a 1080p 60 FPS monitor.

    Spoiler:
That makes the Ray Tracing version the obvious choice in every scenario.

As usual the premium versions of mainstream products don't make a tonne of sense.

    Linus Tech Tips.

But hey, this looks pretty lol
