I know this is still very pricey. This is lower than Statice

You're not wrong. $1900 is ridiculous money to spend on GPU.
We don't care mate, this is OzBargain where deals are posted for everyone, including those who can afford and those that can't. Truth hurts does it?
true. fair enough if you can afford it. its like people on here whining about $2k iphones..
A 2060 still plays the same games :)
Yes ofc and those who can afford more performance will buy the higher end cards. Idk why people are butthurt on why it's expensive when it's the premium card this year. It's like comparing an 30k car to a 100k car. It's all the same.
Glad I stuck with my 1080ti and didnt upgrade to the highest of the newer gen like I usually would.
This card is very much a first gen tech, I will jump on the RTX bandwagon at a later date/when the 1080ti kicks it
I picked up a 4 weeks old EVGA GTX1070Ti last month for $370 when the owner upgraded and find I can play most games at ~35-45fps @ 4k with high detail.
I bought the RTX2080 but sold it shortly afterwards as it became evident, that nothing much would use the RTX features for some time.
I am typically a PC Master Race early adopter of hardware but I passed on the 20 series and will be keeping my 1080TI SLI setup after reading reviews on these new cards. The price vs performance simply does not make sense to me at this time.
EDIT: In before jokes about price vs performance and SLI is dead comments.
I'll gladly take the jump from my SLi 770s to an RTX 2080Ti……..when I find one that is affordable…lol
Yeah it would definitely be easier to justify if you are a couple of generations behind and the performance boost is a decent amount. Not much between 1080TI and 2080TI for current games though.
Genuine question - I've heard that SLI can be bad for most games as the vast majority don't support SLI - what's been your experience with SLI compatibility in games?
It has been hit and miss with a lot of pain in-between but when it works its fantastic.
All the popular games are early access type games these days which are horribly optimized and typically do not support SLI so you have to disable it. That in itself can be annoying and even AAA titles now are no longer bothering with SLI profiles ever since Nvidia decided it was now on the Game developer to incorporate it and not them.
When it does work on a game, like a AAA title that you are really into its wonderful maxing out everything and still having 90+ frames but it is rare. That is as honest of an opinion as I can give.
@hey aj: Thanks for the info! My worry was that I would have to manually unplug the second card whenever I wanted to play a game that didn't support SLI - so, is there some software I can use to just disable one of the cards easily?
@Zazer: Yep, when you install nvidia drivers for the card you will have an nvidia control panel application also installed and running in the hidden taskbar icons (or you can right click the desktop and it will be an option to open).
You can disable and enable SLI in there and it has gotten better these days with what other apps can be running while you swap between SLI on/off but it sometimes asks you to close programs like Steam or Chrome before it can switch.
@hey aj: Neat! Thanks for the info, what do you think the best current price-to-performance GPU is to get? I want to eventually get 2x SLI 2080 Ti's, but obviously that'll take a little while, so in the meantime I'd like to get a cheaper graphics card setup. What would you recommend? Getting 2x cheaper cards, like 2x GTX 1060 6GB? Or getting a single 1080 Ti or something?
Thanks for the advice, I'm pretty new to PC's in general :)
@Zazer: That's a tricky one to answer without bias as I am of the opinion the 20 series should be skipped and it's better to wait for the next series (price/performance of 20 series compared to 10 series is just not their on the flagship cards imho).
$1541 was a decent deal below for the RTX2080Ti, everything else since then remains overpriced:
Only for new ebay plus members that was……
Thanks bought 10.

Do you think NVIDIA GPU pricing will ever drop back down to 'reasonable' levels again?
I'm sure the 980ti wasn't $2000 when it was released
nah it was about 1000-1100, source, I got one launch week.
900 or so for the less flashy variations.
1080ti was about 1300 for a flashier variation, about 1200 for founders IIRC, same deal, bought launch week
Yeah, prices are getting inflated, supposedly the top of the line cards back in '03 or '04 were only about $500 max……or so I have been lectured with a history lesson….
AT this rate we'll be seeing top of the lines cards soon reaching 10k$ a piece just like the latest quadro cards……and the latter would be around the ball park of $50k maybe…..the same price of a brand new car! haha
This is why I stopped gaming on the PC.
