[VIC] Grow Pod $10 (Was $29.95) @ Bunnings (Moorabbin)

170

Had to share this find. Looks like they are clearing them out as not on the Bunnings site anymore. On NZ Bunning site at FP. Was in the Moorabbin Vic store yesterday and these were $20 and was looking at them as they were in the bargain bin. Had already brought enough stuff and was lining up to pay, so didn't buy. Then wife today needed to go back to store. Said for her to have a look at it. She came back with 1 and it was $10. There was a bit of mucking around as they hand mark the price which means they then have to manually input the sale price. Not back for $10. Worth a go.

114.3 x 114.3 x 189mm White and Grey 2.5w globe with 2 settings.

Small amount left say 8 now. Might be some at other stores if you look hard, but may not be same price.

The Grow Pod is a compact and attractive tabletop unit for growing small succulents, moss and small plants. With a built-in grow light and fan for good ventilation, the unit makes it easy to grow plants where natural light may not be readily available.
Contains a set and forget timer with an auto on/off feature making growing a breeze. Simply plug the USB cord into your computer to power the unit.

Update. Still a few left at Moorabbin garden section just as you enter in the discount trolley. I have some mirror glass pebbles if any one want to share some of that at nominal cost to offset my purchase on that. By the way it cost me the plant $7.31 for plant and $6.91 for pebbles. Good if you already have these. https://ibb.co/TvB72vm

Can we grow funny stuff in it?

I think clowns are too big.

It's very small, but you could try and grow a fun plant and see if your office mates realize what it is. Can then be transplanted to this.

https://cannabisnow.com/grow-pods-deploy/ But not in Aus. ;)

      • Check your state laws, it's legal in various States but the laws keep changing.

      • The leaf grow cabinet looks awesome. Perfect for cherry tomatoes!

Ben Cousins is that you ?

      • Mate its a grow tank not a light globe ;-)

    • @fiend It's a case of going in store and asking. I think it's a clearance item as not on website. Also maynot be at OP discount. They usually don't price match prices between stores. Might be able to get one for you, but shipping over to Perth from Melbourne probably will kill the bargain.

      • Ah wouldn't want anyone to go to the hassle of shipping me one. Thanks for entertaining the thought though.

  • Thanks OP, just picked up 2 from Moorabbin and a couple of succulents.

    There’s about 8 left still.

They are pretty small - no way to grow anything funny in there lol. They are more like display cases for small succulents/plants that don’t need direct sunlight (very low power LED).

    • Worth a try for that price as you still need to get the plant as well. Post a pic of what you ended up planting. I'm yet to get plant. Still have to remember to water them. My archiles heel in looking after plants. They always die.

      • I'm still yet to plant as I forgot to get some soil at the time and don't have any where I'm currently at (concrete jungle). I'll try and remember to do it this weekend and post a pic.

Maybe look at putting a small succulent or cactus in there, they don't need that much water and if you forget to for a long time, it should be able to get enough moisture from the circulated air if there's a bit of humidity.

        • No rush. I have a feeling its going to take me longer and cost me more to pick the right plant. Looked on gumtree for some cheap succulants. Non really jump out at me.

Wasn't there enough soil with the plants you brought.

  • Might need to reset it and lower it a bit in the pot.
