I just buy seeds and grow them myself.
You can either buy the seeds at bunnings or some places have them a bit cheaper online.
Not sure you'll find places that much cheaper than bunnings online. Your best bet would be not online, but at a regional market.

  • I would just go to Keysborough plant markets.

  • Have you tried Facebook marketplace? Lots of plants on there…

  • Merged from Buying Houseplants Plants at Bunnings at a Discount? Any Places to find Houseplants in Box Hill (VIC)?

Just wondering on when are normally sales on houseplants are in Bunnings? As well, where to find when they are on clearance, when droopy or nearly dying?

Any shops within Box Hill or any Asian supermarkets that stock and sell houseplants in Victoria?

      By pounding the pavement.

      Bunnings don't have plant sales.

They'll discount plants on their last legs or if they have a lot that they aren't selling quickly enough but it's a random thing, often when the Store Manager decides to do it.

You have to be in the right place at the right time.

    • Bunnings will only have a sale on plants when the plants don't sell & the rootball gets all tangled.

Bunnings aren't really the greatest at this. Head to a flower power. They understand more and put the plants on sale earlier.

    • Are you seeking some company for when you need to self isolate? You may need to talk a lot more to the cheaper plants that are in their last legs.

    • I asked a staff member if they could discount a plant for me at Bunnings once. It was the last one left and was very neglected. They did it without any worry at all. I'm not sure if they would do it for a trolley load of them but you could try :)

    • Try Facebook marketplace

    • I have a family member who works in the nursery at Bunnings. They will mark down plants several times a week, but it is up to staff members to decide (there is no formal process). Basically if there is a plant that is in a condition where someone wouldn't pay full price for it, they will mark it down. You can bring a damaged plant to their attention and ask them if they will mark it down if they agree.
