Real competitive gamers do and probably alrdy got one.

      • The XB271HU model is IPS if you look around and pay a bit more.

        • Yeah added into op just in case.. that will cost $804 after discount

      • -1

Not everyone is a competitive gamer. Some people don't try and make a career out of playing video games, believe it or not.

        • Lmao? And that's why there are different models. Ips, VA, and TN. Mate just coz IPS suits you doesn't mean it suits everyone else. They cater to everyone and not just your personal style.

  • Wish there is a IPS version of this one on sale, also wondering if it is worth while to get HDR for monitors? probably will cost a fortune

    • $804 after max $75 discount

    • The cheap (if you think dropping ~$1700 is cheap) way is get a high end TV like an LG B8 OLED or a IPS TV with full array local dimming. Note that LGs 2019 OLED models are going to be 120Hz with Freesync so worth waiting for for gaming and some Samsung models support Freesync now.

There are only two high hertz "gaming" monitors that do proper HDR at the moment and they are hellaciously expensive.

Have this monitor and it's fantastic, not sure why people bother with IPS, more input lag, and generally you're gonna be playing games face on the monitor, not 45 degrees on an angle, so viewing angle is pointless.

    • Like what you say, everyone I know that gets IPS at some point complains about back-light bleed, need to send them some tissues.

    • I myself have IPS but I agree with you. Well no need to agree since u just stated difference between IPS and TN and obviously both are good depending in what the user is looking for in their MONITOR.

    • +5

I bought the TN version of this which I returned immediately. Besides the few ms you save from input lag, everything else is inferior. Color reproduction is off by miles which makes the monitor useless for any design application (Believe it or not PCs can do more than game). Contrast is terrible (in comparison to IPS) where unless you have an uncompressed video, the compression artifacts will be extremely visible. Each to their own I'm just trying to give you a perspective into why people make the choice of getting an IPS monitor. Both versions are obviously available which means there's clearly a market demand for each. Now that you have an insight into why people bother, hopefully, next time you will have a better understanding of why people make different choices to you.

Why aren't these on clearance? Shocking price.

    • It's the cheapest on Ebay and Staticice, if the price is so crap how about posting cheaper stores?

      • -5

They're on clearance in the US because new monitors are about to be released. I don't give two shits about local pricing if this is the result.

  • I know if I buy a freesync monitor I can force open G sync with an Nvidia GPU.However, if I am using AMD GPU can I buy this G sync monitor and turn on free sync?

    • Why would you do that when it will be more expensive?

      • +1

I may use it a few years and I may not stick with one company so I want it to be useful all the time.

    • +1

just get a freesync version of this monitor its still cheaper than g-sync on onsale
