Fares out of Sydney are quite competitive at the moment. QR also do one ways at a good price which is great if you only have the points for a one way points redemption. Flying QR or EY out of eg KL to Europe means you add an extra stopover to your trip (easily another 4h) and therefore further risks of delays during missed connections - I’ve done it a few times and then regretted I didn’t go for eg MAS or KLM instead.
My most miserable flight experience. The seats are super cramped. I avoid this airline like the plague.
Depends on what plane/route you took. You can’t really fault their A380 and A350 cabins.
Cant recall which one it was, but went from singapore to dubai so had to be one of the larger ones. Economy was a nightmare for space. And I'm slim. Was even in the front row so had that extra 1cm leg room.
Qatar doesn’t fly on Dubai, do you mean Doha? Doha to Singapore has been using their A350 for a few years now, massive HD inflight entertainment screens and generally quite good leg room (I’m 6’5”).
@bozbargain: Yes Doha must have been it. This was back in 2011. I havent known airlines to upgrade planes too fast so I expected it to still be the same one. The inflight definitely had no HD screens.
@vlahka: I flew Qatar 2 years ago (2017) and wouldnt do it again, my screen wouldnt work properly and I was mega cramped in the seats.

The discount is off the fare only, not the tax. The tax is a substantial portion of the total.
I was looking to book for my wife to Europe few days ago. Checking them now, the prices are the same. Prices are a bit higher without the code. Price jacking.

From previous experience using similar codes with Qatar , the 11% off is on the base fare only, not taxes and fees. So expect about $30-40 off a $1000 airfare.

BUT, the Australia tax of 50% for almost all deals deals originating ex-Oz kills it for me. Better to position to SE Asia and but a QR/EY/SQ etc fare at 1/3rd the price.
