      Or it could be installed with an aftermarket headunit that accepts video input (most with a colour touchscreen display will)

    Those lines are usually in the software of what ever is displaying the video feed, ie your stereo

    No guide lines is a good thing, they are not adjustable on the camera itself as they are inbuilt. The chances are that the lines will not line up with your cars dimensions.
    You want adjustable lines on the display unit instead.
