Good price I guess but for PC the download is so large. 130gb and for some people when the download has a problem they have to re-download the entire game. Windows store on PC is ass.

Yeah, this happened to me back in June.

Having to redownload 130GB to fix what could have been less than 50MB is frustrating. The Windows Store really needs something similar to Steam's 'Verify Integrity of Game Files', and that's the least of the issues with the Store.

Can you copy the installation folder somewhere, uninstall, copy the files back and "resume" downloading?

Alternatively copy the files, start the download then stop it and shut down Windows Store, copy the install files back and resume installing?

        • +1

At least with Forza Horizon 4 (only windows store game I have) the game files are all locked and cannot be moved. I imagine it's the same for GO4 too.

        • +1

Windows Store games have been encrypted starting around mid-2016 and stored in folders that the users are (by default) locked away from.

Prior to the encryption being enforced for everything I'd managed to get Forza 6 Apex installed on my home computer by copying files and the app detected it fine and finished the installation, so it might have validation functionality but only while downloading. Can't really check now that its been locked down and worthless for the apps/games that would desperately need it to be a thing

    • 130 GB download size. No problem, I'll grab it in 10 minutes using my 10 GBit FTTP connection… Oh wait, I'm living in Australia and not New Zealand. Now it's a 20 hour wait.

Fallout 4 GOTY is a historical low at $17 AUD. Fallout 76 has skyrocketed in price though; it was under $20, now it is $64.

Well that's what happens when you keep voting for the liberals :). My friends in the UK thought I was joking when I said I'm still on ADSL2+ (and pay $60/month) in 2019 and will upgrade only to FTTN which still uses revolutionary high tech copper wiring.

        • Copper is 19th Century technology. It really ought to be decomissioned. I get almost 20 MBit from ADSL; later this year they will switch us over to HFC but the equivalent plan pricewise is only 50 MBit. Why did they even bother for such a small gain?

          • @RefusdClassification: To the AU population NBN is associated with high speed internet and they could care less if they're being scammed, they just don't know better. As long as they know that they have 'NBN', they won't complain.
Why did they bother? they had to give NBN one way or another. The liberals would have 100% stayed with ADSL2+ if they could so they did their best to try and make it the cheapest trash possible. Which is funny, because the more they downgrade this shit, the more time and money is wasted that ine the end it ends up being more expensive than rolling out FTTP to all houses. I don't trust these retards and their cost figures anymore. If the project was taken seriously it would have been done years ago, with everyone in a big city having FTTP at this point.
We first moved into this house in 2016 and since then it has been delayed FOUR times, now the rollout is scheduled at late 2019. I've seen construction near my house from NBN but nothing in my street sadly.

Kenya has faster internet on average. KENYA!

  • Where do u find the key after u have ordered?

    • you get an email with link to the key, I just got one and now 133gb to download :(

  • Wonder if they'll ever do a good deal on the Forza games. Gears seems to drop this low every week, yet Horizon 3 is still at the $60 mark

Either way, great deal that'll cost you more to download it than for the code

Forza Horizon 3 has dropped in price, just not as low as Gears 4. It’s $28 pre owned at EB.

      • +1

Physical prices don't help for those of us that want the game on PC unfortunately

  • +3

Good price but 133GB really sucks.

For steam I just download fitgirls repacks, I don’t know it’s possible here since files are encrypted.

    • I love Fitgirl repacks. If you unpack them to the correct directory and own the game on Steam, , you can just verfiy on the files and get anymissing or modified ones.

  • I tried all the available payment methods and each and every one were validated and then declined by the "payment processor". What is happening?

I can vouch for CDKeys.com Bought many games from this site.

  • Looks like Just Cause 3 for PC is cheapish too, is $5.29 a pretty good deal for it? Or has it been cheaper?

$5 AUD is a very good price for Just cause 3. I doubt it has ever been less than $5 USD.

  • +1

Damn. I bought at $10 odd. Still on my pile of shame. Oh well.

The cheapness of games that have been available through various avenues since I bought my XB1 a few weeks has really impressed me.

I’ve been a PlayStation person up until now and will keep my PS4 for exclusives but everything else XBox all the way! It’s a whole new exciting world that I’ve discovered lol.

Do you need to have have played the previous Gears games to follow GoW4?

    • No. It's Gears, not Shakespeare. Besides, in terms of story it feels like a reboot or a spinoff as the old crew are more or less replaced by a younger, hipper crew or that was the idea. TBH, the campaign is rubbish - overly long, full of boring or irritating characters. I would view it as a training ground for multiplayer which is where it's at. Speaking of which, there's still a small but viable population of mostly seasoned veterans ready for slaughter.

…and XB1 deals are pricey compared to PC deals.

When I was a kid, top AAA GOTY video games where about a hundred bucks. These days, top AAA GOTY video games are about 5 bucks. Just wait 6-18 months for a 85% off steam sale or similar.

  • Deal is not expired for me :-) 4:40 min remaining.
