    So basically $90pm for 128GB

Fair enough, some people may want to be with telstra for the AFL live pass and that

    • This deal is only applicable for existing Optus customer who want to add an additional service. After talking to Optus chat, I have updated my post.

Oh man… makes that $41 a month for 80GB with Optus and my own outright phone look like a crap deal! (Sarcasm if you couldn't tell)

    • +2

If the outright phone is the same as this, it is a crap deal. $41 + $51. = $92 with a shit network. compared to
      $65 + $20 = $85to a better network. (Not sarcasm if you couldn't tell)
      Compare Apples with Apples

The Chinese phone does everything I want and I've been happy with Optus for years. I can't justify the extra cost. Maybe someone else can. I just can't buy into the Apple hype.

you cheeky PRC forum influencer you…

  • Hmmmm. I have a $200 jb voucher. Might be time to use it.

  • If Peace of Mind was included, it would be amazing.

    • +2

It’s 80GB… if you really need PoM data on an 80GB plan…time to look for a bigger plan

      • I don’t need it, but Telstra had been offering 120GB and Optus 200GB. For the odd month on vacation, why not?

        • Do those have roaming included?

  • +1

    Nah

  • +1

What is the early termination fee of the plan. Once you have paid the $500 you own the phone. I know Optus have very reasonable cancellation fees and all you really have to pay is the remaining balance of the phone.

    • +2

You gotta pay handset and plan cancellation fees with Telstra, whereas Optus is just handset

      • Another reason to stay away from them

  • Can the OP of this unpublished deal comment?

    “This deal is not published.
Jb Hifi IPhone XR Telstra port in discounts up to $680 off (Issue with poster.)”

Where does the $680 come from?

    • Because I am pretty sure the 256gb iPhone XR would then be sold for $800 in this deal.
So they retail for $1480 minus the $800 = $680 in savings.

Here is a pic I took yesterday from Broadway, NSW

XS would be okay. XR is no deal.

  • +2

A tad expensive for the very cheapest 2018 iPhone.

$65 a month is fair. But $500 on top is pushing it.

  • +3

Nobody posting that this is $2,060 TCO

Not a bargain IMO even with the included service

Could the $2,060 minimum price be put in title?

    • +2

      $2059

      $2059 - $1197(XR 64GB available now @ Officeworks) = $862(fees with Telstra for 2 years)

      $862 / 24 = $35.92 (per month with Telstra call/text/80GB)

      I wonder where is the Telstra's Family & Friend's Plans…….for iPhones
my F&F contract is now expired/on monthly plan..I need to renew! :(
