or…you know…AUX input in the car, decent headphones, etc.

    • +2

I use the aux for my car.

    • +2

Oooh a useful tech to other people is not useful to me. Better ridicule them.

      Cool story bro.

      • -2

I'm only ridiculing the people that come on here and sooky-la-la every time that a phone doesn't have a headphone jack. Maybe they think other people who require no headphone jack are too dumb to be able to work that out themselves? Just can't wait until no phones have it anymore

        • +1

Is it that difficult to go oh its got a headphone jack. Its not useful to me but to someone out there it does. So meh.

Phones with DAC still require to have a headphone jack to be useful.

People who require a headphone jack dont care that there are people that dont need it. You dont have to use it if you dont want to but for people that do want to use it. How if there is no headphone jack?

          • -1

@xoom: So then there should be no difference at all if I write on a cheap phone deal here "It's got a headphone jack, not for me", but you know the headphone jack fan club on here will all downvote it.

            • @LikeMike: Or you can just say its a got a headphone jack. Or it doesnt. Factual and straight to the point.

We dont need no cool story on wether you think the headphone jack is not for you and why.

You are getting downvoted not because the headphone jack is not for you. You are getting downvoted because you are ridiculling people who actually think the headphone jack is useful for them.

              • @xoom: Exactly, to rephrase: "We don't need a cool story on whether a headphone jack is for another person" Yet it happens on every single post some idiot says "no headphone jack" and a whole crew of the headphone jack fan club up-vote it quicker than you can say soggy biscuit.

                • @LikeMike: Because a headphone jack is useful to have. Again maybe not for you. If your choice of phone has one. You dont have to use it.

A bit hard to use a non existent headphone jack as oppose to not use an existent headphone jack.

                  • -2

@xoom: I disagree. A headphone jack is not useful to have. Increased risk to phone damage.

                    • @LikeMike: To you it is not. Now that we have that out of the way.

                      It is useful for others.

No increase risk of damage to you because you are not going to use it. To those that want a headphone jack. Its a risk they are willing to take.

If you are talking about water damage from the socket. Note 9 is water resistant and it has a headphone jack.

                      • @xoom: And I told you it is. Now that we have that out of the way…

It's also not useful for others

It's also increased damage to others

                        No not just water damage.

You're really missing the point here. I've tried to explain it to you a few times but here goes again and I see you like shortened dot points so I'll try that…

                        • Someone says "Bad, no headphone jack" on a phone listing that doesn't have a headphone jack. Gets up-voted by the headphone jack crew
                        • Someone says "Bad, it's got a headphone jack" on a phone listing that has a headphone jack and gets down-voted by the crew.

Both are equal in opinion. Every time someone posts a deal with a phone that doesn't have a headphone jack you can safe bet that someone will always have to have a whinge about it.

                        /rant

                        • @LikeMike: Yes they are both opinions. Not saying you are wrong for wanting a phone to not have a headphone jack. Your original neg was less to do with the headphone jack. Its that you are ridiculing people wanting a particular feature that dont suit you.

Just saying more still prefer to have it.

The beauty about the phone market is there are phones with no headphone jack for you.

Or you can not just use the headphone jack.

Maybe they think other people who require no headphone jack are too dumb to be able to work that out themselves?

Its because they were hoping it did. Nothing to do with calling people out as dumb.

Just can't wait until no phones have it anymore

Oh a feature is not useful to me all phones should be like that and that feature should be taken away on all phones.

As a consumer i want as much features as they can cram in it. Yes granted some may not be of use to me but im not going to wish no one else should have it.

How about letting the market dictate what the majority still need or have a use for?

                          TL;DR

You have yet to reply to xywolap what do you like about not having a headphone socket.

    • What do you like about not having a headphone socket??

  • +3

Using this phone right now. More than enough for the average user. Battery takes about 90 minutes to charge.
$202 (not sure about delivery) is a great price.

    • Camera quality?

      • +2

        Poor.

        Also battery life poor.

But IMO a good value phone - I'm happy with it.

        • +2

I have same but 4gb ram 64 rom. I can't say camera is poor, I would say it's not as great as Samsungs, but it's acceptable, especially in day light.

  • Can that site be trusted? Not a lot of a positive reviews I found on the internet.

    • They used to be known as eGlobal digital cameras.

  • +1

Good phone, I have one, been using it for a year and a half plus.

Battery drains quickly, but the charging is turbo, so it does recharge really quick - when using the included charging plug.

    Camera is meh! agreed.

    For $200 a good phone.

Do not buy if on Vodafone, for some reason it fails to send text messages on vodafone network.

    • is there snap cover rear battery compartment or built-in ?

      • Built in, cannot access battery or open case.

    • My wife has the G5s Plus and has had a couple of days were she was not recieiving text messages , very strange m.
FYI with Kogan / Vodaphone .

    • +1

I have the phone - used for over a year.
Battery is better than my previous Nexus 5x.
I'm on TPG, which uses the Vodafone network - not had any text message issues.

  • I've been using this phone since march 2018 and my battery life has been amazing. Averages about 5hrs screen on time. Definitely a great phone for that price but yeah the camera is a bit poor. Not awful just not top notch. So stay away if you like takin fire pics for the gram. and I'm also on Vodafone and have had no issues with texting.

    • Can ditto with the good battery life, had this model for almost a year now.

Camera good enough for motionless daytime shots.

  • I get good battery life. Usually 6 hours plus screen time. Camera is ok, but no phone is really great anyway. Wouldn't rely on it except for daytime happy snaps.

    Great value for the money.

  • Check your local officeworks for clearance stock if any.

  • How long is shipping time with Tobydeals? Any experiences?

    • Ordered a Pocophone F1 on Tuesday night. Paid the extra for express/priority shipping and the order hasn't even been processed as of today (Friday morning). What a joke.

  • "WELCOME10" for an extra $10 off as well. This post actually got me looking and decided to take a punt on the ZenFone Max Pro (M1). Mostly for the colossal battery….

No compass in this version FYI

    • This! Pain in the arse for navigation as maps doesn't reorient to reflect your heading.

    • I didn't even realise that some phones didn't have a compass/magnetometer , I assumed it was a standard feature .
Did a bit of research and the compass made a return on the G6 but not standard on the upcoming g7 . Some G7 models have it , others don't .
      Way to go Motorola !

  • Anyone confirm whether Toby has the NFC version, sounds like it does -
