  • Wow what a drop

  • Thanks!! Nice deal!

  • +2

    That's a comprehensive post OP ;)

    Seems like a good price

    • Lol.. was a bit much removed it

    • After a long time signed up the Optus deal.. this is a steal.!!!

  • +15

I wonder where did they copy the description from.. :P

    powerful night shot

    When night falls

Feeling that moves you, from fingertips to soul

pleasure to touch with its soft

while pleasing your sense of touch.

    glimmers waiting to be discovered.

    • +2

      Oh babe be my Valentine.

    • maybe from love website

    • +1

The upcoming 50 shades of green novel

    • Reads like the description of an adult pleasure toy.

  • Great price for what is a relatively new release - great specs and nice build.

  • +1

Is this model with the Dual Sim?

    • Yes

  • Guess it’s a price erro. Hurry up!

    • Obviously not. It is just hard to sell. In CHINA we call Oppo: IQ Tester. This company sell low spec phones at ridiculous prices and they are not that optimised as low spec iPhones.

    • +1

Can confirm it's not a price error.

Waiting for the "no headphone jack" crew to show up here

    • +13

      Seriously, no headphone jack

    • +14

      No headphone jack, no deal.

      • how do you get around no headphone jack? do you have to purchase wireless headphones?

        • Yes, or USB-C headphones.

        • usb type-C to 3.5mm dongle

          • -2

@dcep: You invent a flux capacitor and go back in time. Seriously it's 2019 now at least we wont have to listen to "no headphone jack" for much longer.

            • -1

@LikeMike: Someone better invent that flux capacitor soon, as I'd rather travel back in time than see an entire population of people walking around with little white sticks poking out and down out of their ears or other buds that look like those big earlobe loops but in the wrong spot.

              • @Sammyboy: I'd rather not see an entire population of people walking around with a cord attached from their headphone to their device.

                • @LikeMike: Cmon…retro and remakes are all the rage at the moment even for Nokia phones lol

            • @LikeMike: sorry what ?

are you responding to @hotspur123 ?

      • +1

If a phone doesn't have the following features, then it is a deal breaker for me:
        - Headphone jack
        - Removable Battery
        - Expandable Memory

This is why iPhones are overpriced crud.

        • +3

          Removable Battery

Which high end phones still have this?

        • +3

Removable batteries sure were great. But they kept phones going longer than manufacturers wanted. My galaxy S3 ran three years for me, then I passed it to my mum who's run it for another two so far. You think Samsung likes the fact that their phone from 2012 is still running around in someone's pocket, holding them off from buying an S10+ next month? Phone manufacturers are impatient for users to replace their phones. They'd prefer we replaced every month. Notice that I avoid using the word "upgrade" - that's a psychological marketing weapon used to make people feel inadequate while using last year's model.

          • @freakatronic: I don't disagree with your model or morals, but the last comment about the word upgrade is a bit off.
Upgrade's definition: "Raise (something) to a higher standard, in particular improve (equipment or machinery) by adding or replacing components." By definition, replacing an older phone with a newer phone is improving the individual components, and can thereby be called an upgrade.

  • I've always wanted to try SuperVOOC charging and test the 0-100% charge speed!

    • +4

It is stupid fast , highly recommend it

  • +3

Glad I passed on the LG V30+..!

    • +9

This only has a snapdragon 710 and a lower res screen. This is nowhere near as good a deal as the recent V30+ deal.

    • +5

The V30 is such a good phone. Never had a phone with this battery life. Loving it

    • +10

      Seriously?

LG V30+ is much better phone.

      SD 835
      Headphone Jack
      Micro SD
      Higher resolution screen
      Quad DAC
Military Grade toughness (I thought was a gimmick but have dropped my phone few times while waiting for a Spigen case which was on pre-order but not a scratch yet)

      • +1

Military Grade Made up standard toughness!

        • +1

whatever it is the phone is handling falls well.

        • The military gets whatever the government tenders out for the lowest price. It is not a standard of quality to which anyone should aspire.

          • @freakatronic: Whatever govt chooses still has to meet the minimum military specified specs and they have pretty strict standards too. Thats the reason that most advanced technology takes years or sometime decades to make it to civilians. For example, ARGUS-IS camera on Predator drones, a 1.8-gigapixel video surveillance platform that can resolve details as small as six inches from an altitude of 20,000 feet (6km).

    • ColorOS is utter garbage

  • +8

1st thing to do is install nova launcher…their UI sucks

  • I have an r11s and you have to "lock" apps in the multi Tasker to stop them going to sleep otherwise I don't get notifications. Can anyone comment if the R17 pro behaves like this?

    • Can confirm, had both phones and the r11s was very aggressive. The R17 is not but you dont have the same battery life

  • +4

    snapdragon 710

  • +1

This is a crazy good price. I've been following this phone and ended up buying it 2months ago for $750 so this stings. But it's a great phone for the charging alone. I don't even charge at home anymore, only during my drives in the car since just 10mins charges 40%

    • Any review from personal experience?

      • Yeh I'm loving it. Camera is decent and whilst it's not the latest Snapdragon it does everything pretty snappy and I see no lag. My only issue with it is the oppo launcher so I use nova launcher.

  • +1

The reason is on sale is because of Unpopular colour (got told by my friend that work in JBhifi)

    • -1

The blue one is for $699

      • +1

That's the non pro model I believe

      • thats non pro model mate

      • Weird, the current catalogue lists that (non-pro) for $599, but links to the Pro.

    • Yeah I have to admit that's a big reason why. Absolutely massive difference in stock levels between this and the purple.

    • Chinese phones are cheaper as well..so not sure how you are calculating value drop? Percentage wise or dollar wise? You might not get many buyers for a resale for a Chinese phone.

    • +1

To be fair the only reason iPhones keep their value better than Android is because of the lack of choice and the mindless fanbois.

  • +1

Thank you all - good price for a great phone. just got one from Officeworks - Pricebeat $569.05

  • +1

Disappeared from the site, anyone have a screenshot?

    • wonder if they removed it so people dont price beat at OW.. call a store see if its $599 then get ow to PB

  • +1

    No longer listed…

    • called a store its available for $599

  • phewww that was close …will save
    money today

    • +1

What will you have to give up and sacrifice today that will accumulate the necessary funds required?

  • Pricing error?

R17 non-pro in the catalogue starting today for $599.

  • +2

Just called the store. The emerald one is still on sale in store. Just have to give them a call.

  • +1

So I have a Nokia 8, I'm thinking of upgrading soon as the charger port is touchy and it's got it's fair share of wear and tear, was thinking of getting a poco f2 when it comes out, never really heard of this one but does look good, do you guys think it would be a worthwhile upgrade? Wouldn't mind hearing feedback. Thanks.

  • +1

Rang officeworks Mt Gravatt 8.30 this morning and they had one in store that they price beat over the phone. Thanks OP great deal even though I didn't really need a new phone.

    • what a spirit

  • Looks like Oneplus 6t

    • Much worse than Oneplus though.

  • Just went to JB store. $899 now. Showed me on handheld POS.

    • Just got 2 from jb hifi for 599 each

  • This or the Huawei P20 Pro?

    • P20 pro if camera is important for you. R17 Pro if on screen fingerprint is important

      • +1

        Thanks, P20 it is

I need a good camera to take good tinder pictures

    • $100 off by the look of that page.

    • +1

      Just the banner image mate

  • This is the same phone as the OnePlus 6t which is arguably better with stock android and a more powerful SOC.

    • So different soc and OS = not the same phone. But they are very similar and share parts.

  • expired? price mistake? Only see R17 w/o pro for 599

  • -6

Oppo stop short of guranteeing no leak of your data to the Chinese Govt.
Whilst they probably have our data anyway - No Deal!

    • +2

what r they gonna do with knowing what pornhub channels I watch? lol

    • Its getting old. You're getting old.

  • Not the Pro, Seems to be the standard R17 at $100 off. The original link is now 404 and this is all that's on JBs site.
