        • I see their point, but I wonder for the iOS example if Apple stopped allowing apps to display EV details in iOS 12. That wouldn't surprise me.

          • @DogGunn: it's not just iOS - Google have done the same with Chrome. Anyone can buy an EV and state a fake name.

They provide SSL and it's free which is his point

  • Please update the title. This deal is for 2 years only.
And it’s also USD, not AUD. [So about $480 all up], for something nobody really needs.

But it is cheap for an EV.

I always use www.ssls.com to purchase certificates, they are always cheaper. Even for the EV one, they are $167.88, you can purchase 1 year or 2 years.

EV certs are huge waste of money to the point that you cannot even tell the difference between EV and normal certs in most mobile browsers. Many of the most visited sites in the world don't even bother (Facebook, google, reddit, twitter etc).

Boo go home. Certs have been a scam for many years and they still try to peddle points of difference when you can get the same functionality for free. Scope is so limited, only 20 clicks in 3hrs. Shouldn't even be a deal.

    • Nooooo CERTS are damn critical!! "extended validation" certs are likely dead. But certs are certainly not a scam!

      • I know they are critical. Didn't say they were not. The issue is some cert providers charging clients saying their certs are better than the free ones which isn't the case.

  • Thanks OP :)

  • I like my wildcard certificate :D
