  • any good for fortnite - asking for a friend.

    • Yup. Can't go wrong with just fornight.

    • Yeh should be perfect

Check out this recent Hardware Unboxed review, they test a RX 570 system with Fortnite and a bunch of recent games.

      TL;DW
At 1080p resolution with the high graphics preset it averages around 70 frames per second in 50 v 50 player mode (never dips below 60) and occasionally reaches 90 - 100 FPS

I paid a lot more for a 580, which is only 10 more than 570. Been happy with it.

  • +4

Ah, was wondering why the price was so good. Seems to be a card designed for mining.

Personally wouldn't buy this over a normal 570 (with display port/HDMI), but that's up to yous.

Sapphire card should be nice cooling wise anyway.

    • +1

All-in price is $168 AUD which is not so good if we're talking about mining card with just 6 months warranty

      • Ah! Forgot all about the downright abysmal warranty.

Which would be able to stay at 6 months to, not an Aussie seller.

  • +5

This is a mining card, and as a result of the one DVI port, may or may not be capable of Freesync over HDMI only.

Massive buyer beware on this one.

  • +1

DVI only is not compatible with newer high refresh monitors

otherwise decent price if you don't mind

Currently getting 40fps on highest settings with my ROG 8GB RX580 on The latest tomb raider. Man AMD cards are crap!!!!!!!

    • +2

On the contrary on that performance tier they excel and can't be beat for value.

      • With 225w tdp?

    • unless your running 1440p then something else is bottlenecking your system, you should be getting closer to 60 in 1080

    • +1

Something may be wrong with your settings or there is a bottleneck somewhere. You should be getting closer to 60fps average, 1080p, at the highest settings in SOTR.

    • This is some terrible logic.

    • Mid 40's is what I was seeing with the Asus RX580 TOP OC card in a Ryzen 1700x system @ 1080P.

Moving up to 1440P the average dropped to low 30's.

That was right at release time so perhaps they've improved their drivers now.

  • bit of a tough market sorting through the 4gb 570 mining cards looking for a home after the bit coin drop and cards that are targeted at gamers eg580, 590, 8gb, etc.

  • Will HDMI audio passthrough DVI? I rely on audio to go through HDMI as various machines are hooked onto a KVM

  • Is the Radeon 7 release likely to have any impact on RX 570/580 pricing in the near future?

    • +2

With how low they already are, especially the RX 570, I doubt it would much at all if any.

    • The range is pretty well spread out eg Radeon 7, Vega and the RX line are their respective price points. You get deals on certain models but prices definitely seem to be holding. It would be like waiting three months to save $90 if it did even drop by that.

  • Anybody knows whether this one comes with the AMD free games codes?
