    • Different brand and includes shipping. I know most will say “same active ingredients”.

so, why pay more for packaging and bonding agents? Both items does not help alleviate pain

        • Because it's called effective marketing. People assume Panadol and Nurofen does a better job, most of the time it is a placebo effect but since they've done it so well, it's the norm.

          • @4tran: Why people like Panadol, Nurofen, Paracetamol, Ibuprofen,… that much?

Guess this deal would benefits those on Prime as the Pharmacy Direct has a $7.95 delivery fee, effectively making it $10.

But I guess you get them from CW for $3 if you're not fussed about buying a generic brand.

So which is lowest carbon footprint ….one you buy in shop or along with other items or the c02 created to pack and deliver one packet …

    • Is that a rhetorical question?

    • I don't give a shit if it means saving time and money :)

      • What if your package gets sent to post office coz postie cbf knocking, now you have to do your normal shop plus stop by PO. Wasting time money and everything Garage sale said.

        • I send everything to a parcel locker which I walk past every weekday.

  • I heard nurofen is not good for long term usage. Panadol is safer? Although I must admit nurofen works better for me.

    • +1

Ibuprofen (Nurofen) can have long term side effects which include stomach ulcers. Panadol is an analgesic, while Nurofen is an anti-inflamatory. So if one works better than the other, its likely because of what your treating. Instead of ibuprofen you can try Voltaren, or if its for chronic pain, try PEA.

      • FYI: Voltaren (diclofenac) is also an NSAID and has a similar safety profile to ibuprofen.

      • I take Ibuprofen for hang overs every now and then, will that have long term side affects??

        • Every now and then, no, you'll be fine. Also, ibuprofen is generally safer than paracetamol for hangovers (alcohol doesn't play nice with paracetamol)

          • @gilbarc: When I mean every now and then, I mean once every fortnight when I got and get hammered. Is that safe??

            • @Homr: The alcohol is likely much less safe.
Paracetamol is bad for your liver, Iboprufen is bad for your kidneys.

If you're concerned about the pills consult a doctor

  • It's stupid to pay more for the same active ingredients. For the same price as the Nurofen you could get a Coles packet of ibuprofen and a Coles packet of paracetamol. One of each at the same time does a great job. Disclaimer: I only play a Doctor in front of the TV.

    • Me too, we have a tv in the bedroom;-)

Edit, playing doctor I mean. Gtg I can hear my patient trying to get out of her restraints

Don't buy a brand name, when the generics are less than half the price.

  • 90c woolworths homebrand is fine for me!

  • Just get the same active ingredients on a generic box and you will pay much less.

  • Only codeine works for me

    • Yep. Sinus blocked last night leads to me throwing up and off work the next morning until lunch. Previously a trip to chemist and some panadeine would of sorted. Docs won't give me for the once a month headaches.
