41 today in my area. Lucky didn’t buy this
Is it 41 Degrees inside your house?
This. If their house is 41 inside there's issues.
@scuderiarmani: No no. It’s 42 inside my house
@Danstar: May wanna invest in air-conditioner or better yet a new house before you worry about wifi extenders
@scuderiarmani: But what happens if your aircon is controlled via wifi?
It doesn't mention AC wireless
Why would it? It's an N300 device, so 802.11n, "300"Mbps.
Why would you bother with anything less than AC. That's why this is being cleared
It'll work fine for those people who will be stuck on ADSL2+ for another year or three. 802.11ac's higher speeds won't make any difference to a 15Mbps connection. $15 is fine for short-term use like that IMHO.
This also has an ethernet socket so I assume it can be used as a wifi-to-ethernet bridge to add wifi to devices that don't have wifi, like e.g. CCTV recorders, alarm panels, ip cameras, printers, etc.
My router does ac, but only @5GHz, which doesn’t reach as far as the 2.4GHz. This might help extend the 2.4GHz without affecting my ac @5GHz. I split my network into 2 names for 5GHz and 2.4GHz.
@quarrymaster: 802.11ac only uses 5GHz band. On 2.4GHz the fastest protocol is 802.11n. https://meraki.cisco.com/blog/2013/08/4-things-you-need-to-k…
@alvian: Exactly, that’s why this $15 investment could be useful.
N300 is also fine for a secondary wifi network for iot devices. I'm not turning my lights on and off fast enough to need ac.
This or the xiaomi wifi stick?
Go for xiaomi wifi stick friend I've got 3 and they have been excellent.
hope work well
