    • And I found it even cheaper than that here…:
      https://www.cdkeys.com/xbox-live/games/gears-of-war-4-xbox-o…
However, both of our links are GREY MARKET. OP's post is the cheapest LEGIT copy you can buy.

      • Wait? CDKeys ones are grey market? Damn, bought quite a few things from them before.

        • Yes they are indeed, which is why you don't see them listed on sites like IsThereAnyDeal.com. They are the most reliable out of all the grey market sellers because they sell the codes themselves (so fake keys are rare) and they offer some of the best prices. Which is why on a lot of the gaming deals posted on OZB you always get the comment of 'It's cheaper on CDKeys'.

  • This is a fantastic game. It looks great on the Xbox One, with one of the best uses of HDR lighting (and 4K textures on the X).

The campaign is great. Whilst the gameplay involves moving into the next area, clearing it, then repeating; the story is great keeps it interesting. Plus there are some epic action moments.

Pretty much at all times you are in a small squad of 4, which offers some great team play mechanics even though it’s largely a single player game.

    • I thought the campaign was a wash. Multiplay is where it's/was at.
Absolutely worth getting though at this price, unless you subscribe to Game Pass which includes this game & GoW5 whenever it's released.

Add my gamertag dragonbinder for coop/multiplayer

131gb warning for those on slow connections

    • Goes to show how bloatware M$ games have become. Forza is almost the same too..

      • Bloatware usually means it comes with tons of annoying extras or ads etc. This is just, zero compression laziness. I wonder sometimes if each patch, they just make u download the entire game (including what came on the blu-rays) again, due to laziness.

That's not the original meaning of "Bloatware", from a software engineering's perspective which was where I was coming from:

"Software bloat is a process whereby successive versions of a computer program become perceptibly slower, use more memory, disk space or processing power, or have higher hardware requirements than the previous version—whilst making only dubious user-perceptible improvements or suffering from feature creep. The term is not applied consistently; it is often used as a pejorative by end users (bloatware) to describe undesired user interface changes even if those changes had little or no effect on the hardware requirements. In long-lived software, perceived bloat can occur from the software servicing a large, diverse marketplace with many differing requirements. Most end users will feel they only need some limited subset of the available functions, and will regard the others as unnecessary bloat, even if end users with different requirements require those functions." (Wikipedia).

    • I bought it anyway (3.5Mbps here!)
Hopefully we get NBN next month, so I will download it then.

  • Is multiplayer still alive?

    • Yeah, social is. All the game modes are pooled and voted on so there is still a viable player population. There is a wait though, from 5 to 15 minutes or so depending on the time of the day. I find it's best to cancel the search after 5mins or so and start another.

Be warned. Almost all players are seasoned veterans and will probably eat you alive unless you have GoW experience. That said, it's great fun blazing away with your shotgun at close quarters. And if you like the game, any skills accrued will probably be readily transferable to GoW5, given that this game hasn't innovated since its debut. Recommended.
