It absolutely is, both end up with you playing the game for money. If you care about supporting Ubisoft of all companies, feel free to pay more
It isn't just about supporting the developers (which I think is important), but also ensuring you are not supporting criminals. Plenty of keys come from stolen credit cards or gift cards from scam victims. Also many of the keys are from more grey sources, but you don't really know what you are getting.
Keyshops are almost always cheaper then legit shops. It isn't really worth pointing out that you can get a game cheaper at a keyshop.
@Aureus: It's a worth mention as many don't even know keyshops, or even other official stores besides Steam like GMG and Gamebillet, even exist.

They have also begun to add steam achievements across most the assassin's creed games including this one.
One of (if not, the) best AC games ever imo. Well worth the price even though it's 12 years old.

Yes. As I've recently found out, they don't allow any kind of family sharing. Even though I have Ubi games purchased through Steam, they require an Ubi launcher and I can't setup a way for my kids to play them.
You're upset with Ubi's current style and creation, so you wish to punish their good creations from the past?
maybe reinforcing their older creations will send a message that we long for their older game design rather than their new nonsense.
