JV: How does a radio help set up a disk array?
JV: Reeinno is Chinese for "goodbye data".

    • Random IOPS? Is that test with random IO? Truly random!

  • Amazing. Cheaper than an SD.

  • I think I watched a YouTube review of these and the results were not good. YouTube search aliexpress ssd review before buying.

    • Was it this specific SSD? They all vary in performance and a lot of good brands can be found on Ali.

It was for the 128GB one that apparently has reject memory chips (denoted by stripes across the chip) as confirmed by the manufacturer. Here's the pros/cons list at the end of the video.

        • Ahhh yes that's a model I'm familiar with. I bought a drive to test and the seq read/writes were decent but everything else very bad.

From my understanding the one in this deal is from their higher end range and using proper flash memory.

          • @Clear:

in the video the 4K writes were heaps bad

Well hopefully that's the case. Although the 128GB uses MLC and this 960GB uses TLC. If anyone on here gets it, report back if it has the stripes on the memory chips please.

Mine were too. Drive ended up costing me $17 US in an Ali sale.

You aren't even sure if you watched a YouTube video? Thanks for the feedback, it was really helpful.

    • were you a former Chemical/weapons Inspector for the US Gov't?

  • nice way to store those steam games if you want faster load times.

    • why just steam games?

      • Because you wouldn't trust any data that isn't instantly replaceable on a drive like this.

        • -1

but why not my other games that aren't on steam?

        • Why not? You don't back up daily?

I don't see the problem. If it dies, you have a set of back up or two.

On the flip side it could last you years.

        • aussies reacting to brands with no backup by data ….reality is there are a few nand foundries, a few controller manufacturers, the rest is brand and marketing and the rest is automates soldering …..how many brands does foxconn assemble phones for and nobody says “ewe foxconn”. apple and xiaomi are done by foxconn.

@garage sale: you are right, but you also gotta consider that often these sorts of cheap brands that use "real" brand hardware get the factory seconds and such. Up above someone is saying this brand used defect nand chips in the smaller models, so its wise to be cautious of this model too and not rush in to buy things without some research.

  • Did anyone receive theirs from the last deal yet?

    • I ordered mine on the 8th of January and received it yesterday.

      • -3

Great, any data you place there, just have in mind that it'll disappear at any given time.

        • based on what statistical data or social media ?

          • @garage sale: SARCASM STARTS NOW

obviously a nation of over 1,350,000,000 can not have a reliable manufacturing base nor the ability to produce reliable products.

china relies on the ingenuity and development of the west as it has never produced anything independently.

with out the superior western white intelligence to guide the world then the non-white nations would quickly devolve in to barbaric cannibalistic warring tribes.

Obviously this product is made from pine cones and metal shaving because China can not produce quality electronic components and goods- never has and never will.

and the fact that most people have never heard of this brand is obviously derived not from a gap in our omniscience, which comes from growing up on a large island with a small population that has a virtually zero level of production of electronic goods and has to import all electronics from overseas and via major suppliers who stick to "known brands", but because this brand must be fake and made up and therefore utter shite.

            SARCASM HAS ENDED

  • Do i? or wait for the Samsung deal.

    • +5

Wait for something quality. Prices are still trending down.
