Bullet Stealth 300W Electric Scooter $319.20 Delivered @ Mytopia eBay Store

POOLTIME

Good alternative to the Xioami M365 and nearly half the price. I decided on this because of it's portable form factor when folded up and weighs 7.6kg (compared to 12.5kg for the M365).
There's also the 10.4ah version also currently for sale for $415.20 which goes a little faster and supports a max load of 120kg. 1-year warranty and AU plug included. I made a little table below to compare the scooters stats side by side:

Specs Xiaomi M365 Bullet 8.8ah Bullet 10.4ah
Amp Hours 7.8ah 8.8ah 10.4ah
Max Speed 25km/h 28km/h 30km/h

Quick question because I know next to nothing about motorised scooters - why do these have the same/shorter range as the Xiaomi despite having bigger batteries and weighing less?

    • Probably because xiami is more energy efficient in using the power.

    • +1

Because these are cheap rubbish sold by a rubbish supplier AGR machinery.

The Xiaomi will have parts available, this one will go into the bin when something breaks. Great bargain!

      • +2

        buy two. problem solved.

    • Range is determined by how fast you are moving and how much weight it's carrying.

    • The Xiaomi runs at 42V on a 36V motor. The bullet runs 30V on a 24V motor. The bullet in reality only goes about 25km/h. (30km/h without any weight) and has less torque

  • Spec and price wise this seems a better option than the M365 but I’ve never heard of this before.

Is this a good buy or should I wait for M365 to dip below $500?

  • Dam, pretty tempting. Been really convinced on the M365 lately too but just hoping for it to be less…Anyone else used this Bullet scooter for a bit and can give a quick review?

  • +1

Single review on the 10.4A version isn't great: https://www.amazon.com.au/Electric-Scooter-Portable-Foldable…

Doesn't go above 20kph and only 15km. So I'd take those speed and range claims with a grain of salt.

  • +1

And before it takes over the thread - yes we know that this 300W scooter would be illegal on public roads/paths in several states.

  • +10

This will be cheap rubbish that will operate poorly and end up as landfill.

Not to mention it's illegal in most states as it's 300watts and the reviews are poor showing its specifications are false.

Be warned that Mytopia is another trading name for AGR Machinery and Edisons. Any good reviews are generally false.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/search/node/Mytopia

Their website is full of phony reviews or ones left when the product arrived. This is one review that sums it up - http://www.productreview.com.au/p/baumr-ag-bcx720.html

    Review from Whirlpool

"I'm sorry to say you have bought a pile of junk. Bought one of these off that mob and it was the biggest pile of rubbish, the plastics broke the motor and shafts would not lock into place and the pull stater broke on its second start and they refused to sent me a replacement even after I sent a picture of the broken unit, edisons are well known to sell junk and there support is not much better, good luck."

"It's worse. Alias 'agrmachinery' and 'mytopiastore'. They are scum and protected by the fleaBay rating system.
The Search tab on the left will find real experiences… keeping it local.. then there's google."

Edison's even posted a fake review in the thread…

    https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2503724

And of course the master AGR machinery thread with hundreds of negative experiences that are all genuine.

    https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1283863
and then read whirlpool and ozbargain, eg: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/286720

    • I have one and broke after three months. Pull starter broke, plastics and wire all came off.

You post this on nearly every single mytopia deal regardless of the product

      • +5

Good to know that it is a bad seller. My wife bought a present from there for me and they threatened they wouldn't refund unless she changes the bad review. The bad review they received because of their rude and poor customer service.

They called her twice to say she wouldn't win the case via the eBay process.

They also claimed that the returned item was working when it was returned.

      • +3

I agree. I'd rather know the bad reputation of a retailer. Thanks Mav!

      • Hey toobzy at least you can feel comfortable knowing that he's not a Mytopia, AGR Machinery or Edisons stooge.
FYI I have never read this info before so if Maverick-au didn't post it I wouldn't know about it.
The links make interesting reading and companies such as this should be exposed.

      • +3

Actually I haven't posted this for ages, had to scroll back 20 or 30 deals to find it and one only posted it 3 maybe 4 times. You might be suffering from myopia and should get your eyes checked.

    • You mind being consistent and putting your same opinion in the other mytopia post?

  • Info has changed, delete this comment

  • The tires seem small to go at 25k speed on uneven footpaths or going from path to road.

I have the Ninebot ES2 and it's front tire is 8" and non inflatiable, would not want smaller

  • I would purchase one with a trusted brand with good review. I will pass this.

  • False specs. Get the m365, great little unit

  • -1

Illegal in Australia on road or road related areas (footpaths etc).

    • +3

      Wrong - legal in QLD.

        • -1

Does no one on this site read their own links?

          • @Hinee: omg dude.

STILL illegal as it exceeds maximum permissible speed. Both 300w models go faster than 25km/h.

            • @UFO: I guess I'll concede here - though I doubt realistically either would exceed 25km/h and I would have absolutely no worry riding them in Brisbane with, you know, electric scooters being legal now and all.

              • @Hinee: It's not whether you'd realistically exceed the limit, its whether you get fined based on the easily google'able specs.
But good luck explaining your argument though.

                • @UFO: I just see absolutely no time that is going to realistically happen, though as I said, I concede and you got lucky these apparently go 28kmh. You still would have put the same first two comments on a Xiaomi M365 post though, you now know they're legal in QLD at least ;)

    • Are you going to neg vote every motorised scooter post? Oh.. I didn't see you neg the Xiaomi ones or anything else..

      • +1

Yeah sorry… I do try and monitor/vote on every single deal here 24/7 on OzBargain ;).

But I see you've been here as long as I have and had almost 5000 comments too. Funny how I haven't noticed you either.

        • Either case, the actual scooter isn't "illegal" to sell or purchase in Australia. You can technically ride it on your own lands or in park / bike paths that are not on roads.

TBH, pedal bikes go much quicker than this: A big guy like me will only push 15km/h max out of it on flat land which is substantially slower than my geared mountain bike. It's not really fair to demonise products like this.

          • +1

            @bchliu: You're 100% right.

Not illegal to sell or purchase in Australia… not that I said that.
They are illegal to use in public on any road or road related area (footpaths are road related areas)… which I did say.

But what speed YOU can realistically achieve on one isn't what the law says. It quite clearly states what the SCOOTER can achieve.
I'm a bigger guy too and no way I'm getting over 20 on these things. But that wont matter once the officer Googles the model number of the scooter.

Just to be clear, I'm not demonising anything. I'm simply stating that for the intended purpose that most people will buy these for, they aren't legal.

There are plenty of models out there that are legal, and its a simple matter of applied physics in changing the final drive ratio that would allow even big guys like us to get better performance out of them (whilst not being able to get to a higher top speed).

There's no reason for these things to go so fast, when just a little slower would yield better acceleration due to a small change to the final drive ratio.

  • Not in SA. Checked with Service SA

    • The Government is probably too busy trying to figure out how to give General Motors hundreds of millions of dollars in corporate welfare. Yes I know they already left the state after taking hundreds of millions of dollars of corporate welfare already but I'm just using past behavior to predict the present.

  • I have a similar one carbon fibre 10ah battery. 7kg ish.

I've traveled 110km on it so far, I believe they all come from the same factory, just different branding. you can find some parts on Aliexpress if you need to because they are all very similar.
    upright
Pros, fold small, i can put it between my legs on the train. It is fairly light so carrying up the stairs etc is not a problem.

Bad. There is small amount of suspension in the front wheels and the carbon foot board flexes a bit. Thats all the suspension you are going to get. If you hit a obstacle higher than 2cm, it can potentially be very dangerous. I always get off to push it onto driveways or curbs.

I haven't had any issues with mine so far, but my one is slightly different with a different display and lights.

  • Pretty sure there is going to be an epidemic of injuries soon as adults start using scooters for the first time :D

I have owned the bullet (this version and older version) and also the m365.
    The m365 runs at 42V with a 36V motor. The bullet runs 30V on a 24V motor.
The the battery specs don't actually tell you much in terms of comparing.
They have about the same top speed and range (10.4ah) both at 30km range I usually got about 22kms. You should also note that when the batteries drop below 50% you will be going much slower and not be able to go up inclines, so you will tend to charge to full when you can.

The bullet is a fun ride, but expect to be looking at the ground infront of you the whole time as it doesn't take kindly to bumps and cracks. The wheels are smaller and solid rubber, the ride is very bumpy. Eventually the suspension on the front fork will wear out after about 1000kms and you will be stuck getting replacement parts. There is a seller on AliExpress called FLJ (the original factory) but parts are expensive. The newer version of the bullet isn't as good as the older one as it feels like they cut costs on the battery. It doesn't go as fast or as far. Still a good ride.

The m365 is great, much more torque and better for inclines. Ride is smooth with bigger wheels and sturdy frame. Did get a flat, and that was very annoying, so that is something to think about. Also the battery will have many issues, the way it is put together is not great, spot welding lithium cells doesn't hold together well especially if you are riding over bumpy surfaces. With no support locally you will have to resort to YouTube videos and self repair. I have probably repaired mine every 200kms

That said both scooters require maintenance, otherwise they will be short lived, expect to have breakdowns and issues if you plan to ride frequently.

If you need local support and warranty get the bullet. If you can repair and handy with a soldering iron get the m365. On the m365 I recommend upgrading to solid wheels.

    • +1 on this. Bought one a couple of weeks ago and having lots of fun with the kids on this with backyard paths and all.

    • why do you need so many? because they break so often tat you need to get them replaced?

      • +1

2 bullets broken, 1 returned to mytopia for a refund and 1 awaiting parts/repair.
Riding the m365 now but the constant battery failures are disappointing.

If you have the money I recommend getting the ninebot es4. Better design and battery

        • i want to use it for day to day commute(8 km each way). Seem that i should buy a e bike instead.

          • @SnoozeAndLose: Yeah for long term that might be more reliable. Scooters tend to wear pretty quickly. They're not designed to last. They will have issues past 1000kms.

  • On Kogan website its saying maximum range is only 12km not 28

    • There's three models with different battery capacities and weights. The cheaper ones are the lower capacities whilst the highest supposedly do 28 (I've hit about 20 on a single charge).

  • +1

Bought one a while back, it's a lot of fun but long term the battery dies pretty quickly. Design flaw in the handlebars as well which you can tighten without ripping the display screen out. Would warn others against buying this
