Can still click and collect I think.

  • Free shipping?

    • Nope!

I just made an order for 4 clamps. Normally $21, now $17 (20% off only) => $68. Add the required $12 for shipping => $80. I may as well walk into the local store and pay full price!

Rain-x anti fog N/A.. Of course it’s unavailable lol

    • +1

There’s a lot of stuff unavailable. Even things that you would not expect to sell out (eg. airbrush bottles). Seems like a bit of a scam to say “off everything”

  • +1

OH YEAH stock up on filters and oil.

  • Damn. Does that mean if I used my membership card last week in store I'd get a refund for the difference today?

    • +1

      Yes

    • +1

      Of course !

    • Thanks guys. Woolworths/Coles won't shut up but SCA guys don't bother me. I mustn't look like the type that needs reminding.

    • Anyone know when the loyalty credit is applied? I read it's the day after the item first goes on sale.

      • From memory, it was mid-morning of the day that the item is on sale.

        • Came in 48 hours later. Thanks for the reply

I have a cheap eBay one that works pretty well but I Figure if the expensive ones are that expensive then they must work good!

      • +1

if the cheap one works no point buying expensive imo.

Also ordered a cheap ebay clay wondering how it will compare to the expensive joy bond i been using

Spark plugs were better last week at 50% off.

      • NGK Iridiums? Special order or in stock?

I saw them at 15% last week.

        • The 50% can't have been across the range. I didn't receive any loyalty credit and I bought sparkies week and a half ago.

  • Meguiars 40% is the key callout here

Gold Class Car Wash (for a detailed wash), Wash & Wax (for convenience), NXT Generation Polish, Hot Rims are my faves…but generally the standard is very high quality across the board.

        • Agree with everything you mentioned but Hot Rims I found was not very effective…

They've brought out a newer wheel cleaner I've yet to try as well, but I've found the Bowden's Wheely Clean much better (esp since they fixed the stank in the recent batches!)

          • @Soothsayer: Fair enough - I only had stanky Bowden's but when I did a side by side I liked the hot rims more

        • dont forget microfibre sponge

    • Ordered 12 to last me the next 12 months

    • Already have 10, do i need more?

      • You might get away with it if you dont work on anything for a couple of months out of the 12

        • but sometimes you find a 10mm in the car you're working on

  • THanks OP - Stocked up on cheap filters for my cars - servicing for the next 2 years sorted.

  • i want the bowden's metal polish but can't find a bloody store with stock… can't see the point in 20% discounts when ive got to pay for shipping…

    • Do you think Bowden's is much better than Autosol? I need to polish scratches out of a stainless sink

      • honest answer is i don't know - i see plenty of folks recommending the bowden so worthy of trying it out… but shipping at 8 bucks is 30% of it's cost… no thanks.

      • +1

Haven't used their newer blue formula (which is a lot denser), but their previous one was fantastic. Used on stainless steel exhaust headers and came up an absolute treat with much less elbow grease than Autosol. The shine also seemed to last a bit longer but I might be imagining it. Have also used it as a glass polish to get minor scuffs and scrapes out of the windshield.

  • +2

This deal is great for one off sockets. I needed a 36mm for a hub nut.

  • What oil are people running?
    This seems alright https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/penrite-penrite-enviro-c…

    • Penrite make a good product. Their sae16 oil is very expensive though. Use whatever their search tool recommends for your car. I've also called their help line for recommendations on oil for modified engines and they're quite helpful.

    • Redline 0w40

  • Any recommendations for basic socket sets?

    • Yes. Check they have all the sizes. Most don't.

  • I like the fact they advertise the minimum discount. But if they are marking things as out of stock, that's cheating.

  • +1

Time to stock up on some 10mm sockets

    • mind sharing whats the story about the 10mm sockets? saw a few people mentioned already. Thanks!

      ordered
      Meguiar's Ultimate Compound - 450mL
      Meguiar's Smooth Quick Clay Kit
they are good stuff if anyone is interested.

      • Probably a common size that is used so it gets lost easier. I lost that size in my socket set but it's a weird set so I haven't bothered replacing it.

      • @ KaiKai "Meguiar's Smooth Quick Clay Kit" Do it damage new car paint? i have 2017 lexus nx

        • After you wash and dry your car, how does the paint feel to the touch? If it feels a bit rough, then it would benefit from claying. Ideally, it would be as smooth as glass.

Depending on the car, claying can cause marring to the clear coat. This would most likely happen if the paint has a lot of contamination. A light polish usually fixes that, then top up with a wax/sealant/coating. There are plenty of guides on the internet.

        • No it won’t damage the paint.
Search on YouTube for clay bar, you will have the idea and then do it properly.

Or 5% off SCA gift cards if you bank with Macquarie.

  • Bear in mind that Woolworths currently has 30% off a lot of their car car stuff.
Their Armor All is cheaper than Supercheap.

    • +4

Armor All is rubbish, don't do it if you care about your car

Megs or Bowdens are a few bucks more but way better across the board

  • Bowden's Own sale tomorrow!!

    • +3

I'll be buying a big green sucker or 2 if they go for 50% again. I was skeptical when I first bought but the thing is magic. No more wringing out a chamois a thousand times with hot water at your side. 😴

      • +1

I personally prefer the circa 300gsm cloths from Costco. They are good quality. Try it - although they do require wringing out.
I use two when drying the exterior - one to get most of the water off and the second to get the remaining water for a streak free finish.

And then I put those two away and get another couple of cloths for interior. The Costco packs equate to less than a dollar per cloth. You can wash and reuse for kitchen/household duties.

        • +2

Have you tried the big green sucker?

Dried my whole car - mid sized sedan - tried to wring it out, nothing! Seriously stumped as to where the water went.

          • @db87: Haha! Nah I haven't, although I have a half dozen of 1300gsm towels and they were great but dragged a lot.
I'm sure the big green sucker is great - it's just that sometimes I wash 2 or 3 cars in one go and need quite a few towels. The Costco ones allow me to just take a new one every go :p

            • @CrushJelly: Definitely worth a shot. I've tried a whole host of towels xetc and always went back to the chamois for the best finish. Now that I have one of these, I can't believe it took me so long to get one!

Chamois would take a good 30+ mins on a quick day and a lot of hard work constantly wringing it out.

This thing is literally, wipe, finish. If you have a big car it might go something more like wipe, try-to-wring-out-a-few-drops-with-all-of-the-strength-you-have, wipe, finish.

      • Me too, I snoozed last time and missed out, not again.

      • Looks like only 40% :(

        • +1

Would still be with it. $24 isn't too bad at all. Is it listed now? I haven't had a look.

          • @db87: not updated yet but yeah only $4 more

            • +1

@iShibby: Use cashrewards and get another 6+% back?

              • @db87: nice idea

                • +1

@iShibby: I'm waiting for a host of things to show on special but seems like today is excluded. Possibly yesterday and tomorrow only. Will wait and see but I have a few cloths and a clay bar kit I'd like to repurchase. Fingers crossed. 🤞

      • can you guys please link to this product?

        • +1

          https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/bowdens-own-bowdens-own-…

Check for other products. Being 26/1 now, the website has updated to reflect some more sale items. 👍

          • @db87: Cheers! Gosh there's so many.. I just wanna dry my car lol

            • @CVonC: Can't go wrong with just the big green sucker. I have a whole host of bowdens stuff and meguiars ranging form glass cleaners, wheel cleaner brushes, waxers, detailers, clay bars, blah blah blah. If you just want to wash/dry your car, good mitt (or 2 for wheels/under car that can grease up your wash paint wash mitt) to wash with, 2 bucket method to stop contaminant on the mitts, finish off with the "big green sucker" to dry, done. 👍

    • Anything to support this? Where did you hear/see Bowden's stuff was going on sale?

  • My local in Brisbane had the free signup to SCA club usually $5 ?? Maybe ask instore if it country wide

  • Anyone knows if supercheap or autobarn selling AC frigerant in can like this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8Mw_dGFLjo

No its illegal in oz to sell refrigerant to someone without an arctic license. At Bursons you can buy the hydrocarbon refrigerant though, because it is encironmentally inert. Its called hychill.

  • +1

Didn't realise this was online only today, walked into my local and tried to check out with some sockets and they scanned full price. The guy price matched their own website for me to get the sale prices.

  • Meguiar's Snow Cannon Kit
This is a very good price if anyone is looking at snow cannons.

    • +1

Review says Bowdens Own Snow Blow Cannon is better.
I bought Bowdens one a few weeks ago when Repco had sale for $60, to replace my Kärcher one, much much better!
