I've tried several G.Skill ram sets in my Ryzen PCs and the only type that I have ever got to run at their native speed were G.Skill Trident Z 3200Mhz DDR4 using the XMP profile. RipJaw Vs and FlareX have never gotten above 2933Mhz for me. YMMV.
Ryzen7-1700X on a Aorus X370 board - Running Trident Z (3200Mhz)
Ryzen3-2200 on a MSI B450 board - Running Ripjaw Vs at (2933Mhz) :(
Contacting G.Skill directly with as much info as you can is recommended as they are quite helpful.
i contacted them a few weeks ago and they just said refer to QVL.
Thanks for the insight. I'm surprised you had issues with the FlareX - all the reading I've done suggests that seems to the best pairing for Ryzen.
I'm tossing between the GB Aorus B450 or MSI Carbon B450, depending on what deals i can find so guess I should wait until I get the mobo before I pick up any RAM
I've got the Aorus b450 its done everything needed of it so far haven't messed with oc or anything though
MSI B450 Carbon is the better board of the two.
@ganymede: I have that board and FlareX works beautifully. XMP has it at 3200 for me with no issues whatsoever.
My FlareX had issues first time I installed it. I have 16gb but the BIOS only registered 8gb. Took me about 4 hours of google, BIOS flashing and BIOS resetting (using the silly old fashioned pin shorting mechanism) to get it to work.
Since then it has been working without issue at 3200 and 14CAS.
Ripjaws V 2x8gb 3200mhz working fine in my system, Ryzen 2600 + MSI B450M Pro-VDH, with XMP set to 3200mhz. Just make sure whatever board you have, flash to the latest bios.
Good deal, although most users should be fine with 16gb RAM.
My flare x works like a charm at rated speeds in my b450 msi carbon pro
I saw on a review or youtube review somewhere that they had issue getting it above 2800 on a Ryzen system.
every CPU/Motherboard/RAM combo (and i mean the exact parts not just the model) will have different results. If you want as close to guaranteed as you can get you need to look up your motherboards QVL list and select a RAM kit from there.

There's also plenty of people reviewing systems on YouTube. Find one that uses this RAM and has had success getting at least the stock speeds.
Just bought some Trident Z RGB 3200 16Gb for $227 :\
Same but non RGB. Can hit only 3000mhz though on my ryzen build
https://www.newegg.com/global/au-en/Product/Product.aspx?Iteā¦ If you want RGB 4x8gb 3000mhz
Jesus Christ thanks to Allah that I am not buying RAM at the moment. Yarweh be praised!
Where is your sacrificial RAM?
RAM prices set to fall up to 20% this year, praise the lord lol
Stellar. For the price, this is very good.
This is a pre-emptive sale before the actual RAM price crash
A$295.58 is an extremely good price for 2 X 16GB.
I paid A$658 for 4 X 16GB of the Sniper X DDR4 3000 on 22 November 2018 to NewEgg, no delivery fee.
is this no longer on sale?
Anyone know how these would go in a Ryzen B450 build?
