          Maybe because usually registration info is stored in the Registry for PCs. Unless you somehow reinstalled your computer, it should work.

      In answer to this question, yes it is good (there are others that are better, ie. ones with lots of detailed settings), however for most people this is fine because there are so few settings that you have to tinker with before using it - usually just the video quality and divx format and then you're away.

      It's free, so now is the time to test it out. I use V6.0.0 and it's working really well.

    Anyone had any luck with installingit onto thei computer? I downloaded the .zip file, but my computer doesn't knowwhat program to run it through… any suggestions (i'm usinn Windows 7)

      Method:

      • Decompress or unzip the .zip file (I know Windows XP can unzip it without additional software, not sure about Windows 7)

      • You will get a .exe file and the .txt file which contains the info I previously posted.

      • Run the .exe and it would start the installation process.

      Post if you need any more help.

      By the way, I'm using Windows XP SP2 with RAR v3.62 software.

      download 7z and install it then you'll able to unzip the file

      Same here.

      Vista can't unZip it, & WinRAR (v 3.90) only produces one file (of same name) with NO extention at all… ie, neither EXE nor TXT. :-(

      (We re-did the download, with same outcomes.)

      Puzzling…

      PS Before finding the "direct link" here, we got a smaller EXE file called: winx-dvd-author.exe

      Dunno if it's the one we need, but - until I can get it checked for malware - I'm in no hurry to run it.

        Strange, the name for the .exe on my computer is 'winx-dvd-ripper-pt'. Don't know about 'winx-dvd-author.exe'

        By the way, did you open the folder file after unzipping?
        Because my process was:

        • Downloaded 'drp-brothersoft-giveaway.zip'
        • Unzipped the .zip with RAR
        • Got a folder called 'drp-brothersoft-giveaway'
        • Opened the 'drp-brothersoft-giveaway' folder
        • Inside the folder you would see another folder with the same name 'drp-brothersoft-giveaway'
        • Open the second folder and you would see the 'License code.txt' and 'winx-dvd-ripper-pt.exe'

        Also, regarding malware, I scanned the .exe installation file with Norton and nothing showed up. But that's only my results. Could other members post their scan results here too?

          7zip's a little less polished than winrar. WinRAR for ordinary stuff, 7zip for specialist operations is how it works for me.

    Cannot unzip it at all, come up with error: 'cannot open file:it does not appear to be valid archive'. Anyone have any ideas.

    (reported) Work-Around…

    An associate has told us, that the above License Key works
    in a copy of the EXE she got from a file-sharing system.

    'haven't seen her working WinX DVD 6.0.2 Platinum install,
    so, we can't confirm this for sure.

    As always, YMMV.

    I think the problem some users are having is possibly what sort of compression system was used to make the zip file, try using 7zip to unzip even if you have tried WinRAR or something else, 7zip tends to be more flexible with compression methods afaik.
