Price appears to have been reduced as now the same price as smaller Ozito table saw (200mm 800W) https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-200mm-800w-table-saw_p0018… and being promoted on products banner on home page (not always an indication of a special price - but often is)

    Matching Aldi?

Bunnings is always a rip off unless a competitor offers a similar product for a reasonable price.

Only then they sell for a competitive price until they drive the other retailer out of business to continue ripping everyone off.

Good price if you don’t require the legs. Aldi one has legs

  • Aldi one has table extensions, stand and spare blade, but is $50 more. Otherwise, almost identical table saw (2200W vs 2000W). Very tempted as I was planning on getting the Aldi one and I don’t need the extras…

    ALDI's has 5-year warranty vs Bunning's 3-year replacement warranty.

    • +5

Practically speaking I think it might be easier claiming the Bunnings warranty if you actually wanted a replacement not a refund.

      • +2

sometimes rather want a refund than a replacement, so you can buy a newer version of the product. lol.

        • +1

If that's the case then go ALDI. They are better with refunds

          • @edrift: I disagree, bunnings are far better when it comes to refunds.

I looked at this in Bunnings and the fence looked really flimsy. If the fence can't stay parallel to the blade it becomes a really dangerous machine.

    • It is flimsy, but for an occasional use I find the bother of squaring it up manually is bearable for the price.

    • Ideally you want a fence that clamps at both ends, but not at this price.

    • The fence is fairly easy to upgrade yourself, search for "EINHELL table saw fence" on YouTube and there is vids of all sorts of different mods you can do. Some Greek? guy called Giorgos Kolaretakis has some pretty good ones.

EDIT: you really need to set both blade and fence parallel to the mitre slots when you get a new table saw to reduce kickback risk and inaccuracies.

Dont bother with these, way to flimsy to get accurate cuts, the arbor is not parallel to the fence (which is flimsy and crap). Better of getting a circular saw and making your own jigs for the saw

    • See my comment above. I've actually got pretty good cuts from this, timber and even plastic (nylon, HDPE) sheets.

Was hoping they would match with the version that have legs!

  • 4ah Batteries haven't gone on sale yet… I think we cleaned them up last Aldi's sale.

    • Waiting for them to go on offer desperately

  • is there such a thing as a good table saw for under $150 ? Dewalts and its competitors seem to jump up to 5x that price.
Are these products 6 times use only?

    • Not sure which brand the Aldi one uses this time. Last time the 2000W was a rebrand of Scheppach.

      • +1

For anybody who is interested in the Aldi one.
Its a rebrand of the Scheppach HS100S, it even says so on the Aldi box.
Aldi says its 2200W motor, but the Scheppach site says 2000W.

They have a reasonable reputation in Europe, so i would say probably better than Ozito which is just a bunnings brand.
Targeted more for "DIY/Home" use, so not quite Pro Grade, but will do for most hobbyists/DIYers.

Ozito isn't a Bunnings brand. Ozito falls under Einhell which are a pretty big company.

I think someone else summed it up. If you want a refund when it fails get ALDI, if you want a replacement, get the Ozito. In this price range there is not much else to compare against.

That being said for junk I've purchased from ALDI that failed I had a part sent out, so don't expect a refund in all cases. I would expect that the chances of a refund increase as the product become older and spares start disappearing from the supplier.

But if it were me, and if I were interested in these brands, I would go Ozito mainly due to it being a strong brand here and Bunnings having good after sales support.
