Starcraft II - Dicksmith $49.94 - Free Delivery

460

30$ Aud decrease in price. Cheapest next to it is from game.com.au but it's out of stock . Better be quick, I think it's going to sell out quick. - Online Stock is gone but you can still price match it with retail. I am not sure if it works but it's worth a try.

  • Very good deal!
Now this price of $50 is beginning to show trend… so it can go cheaper sooner or later?

  • -2

You better put $49.94 in the title instead. Otherwise it will not highlight it.

I don't like this game is because only one account is allow per game, right?

    • Like this? Sorry first timer here. Technically 2. 1 for NA another one for SEA.

    • -5

You'd only need one account anyway

      • -1

How about on one computer with multiple users? Just like COD BO I can only use my steam login name as player name.

      • -1

what if more than one player in the house (like siblings, or a dad and kid) want to player single player campaign themselves?

very shortsighted by blizzard… actually, strike that…. not shortsighted, GREEEDY.

but I still bought it- great game :).

Actually, you can install the game on as many computers as you want. The Serial number is linked to your Blizzard account.

Here's the kicker… Anyone can play the game as a "Guest" on the computer it's installed on. It'll save your progress, you just won't have any access to online or achievements. So if your friends want to play the Single player only, and don't give a toss about achievements/online, they only require the game to be installed. Hell, each system can support 3 different guest accounts.

If you want to play a LAN game, that's not possible, you'd need to own 1 copy per person and connect via Battle.net

EDIT: Blizzard is also one of the most fan loving companies out there, and recording smashing sales of Starcraft 2 really goes to show the fans love and respect blizzard back… myself included.

how did I get neg votes for above comment? Blizzard are cheapskates! There are 3 races and yet they release Starcraft 2 with a single player campaign that's only Terran. No Zerg or Protoss storylines.

also, a big part of the single player campaign ARE the achievements you can earn, so I disagree with soulblades comment. the achievements give the single player replayability… not everyone wants online multiplayer all the time.

        • er…you made something up as a pretext to call Blizzard "short sighted" and "greedy"…And you're asking why you got negged?

Blizzard did say that SC2 was getting too big for one game and that the Zerg and Protoss storylines would be released later.

  • Good price. I assumed the price would of fallen upon the release of Diablo 3 but I guess this might be Blizzard's way of apologizing for the later-than-expected release of the expansion packs.

  • Sorry just need to clarify, my friend has this game and is done with it, will it still work if i install it on my comp? (sorry i know this is not directly related to this post)

    • +1

      No.

      Starcraft 2 works like this:

The game CD/installation has no copy protection per se. So you will be able to install this game on any PC using anybody's install disc.

However, once you start the game, you will be required to login to a battle.net account that has a Starcraft 2 key registered to it to play.

Once a key has been regsitered to an individual battle.net account, I do not think it can be transferred to another account.

      • Thanks for the clarification :)

        • You could just borrow his account. Voila, problem solved. Keep in mind that only one person can play online at a given time.

  • good deal! game.com.au never back up the stock

  • Is that the name for only login battle.net, can I have difference player name? Like my name aaa, my son bbb, etc.

    • One name for one server. If you have aaa on NA server, your son will be using aaa when he plays on NA server. However, SEA version (the one that we buy locally) have two servers for the players. We get SEA and NA server. So, basically you can play as aaa on NA and your son can play bbb on SEA.

      • So you mean one copy (one CDKEY) can have one name on one server, right?

If I want another name on the same server I have to buy another copy, right?

        • That's right.

  • Thx :)

I cannot understand how other country work with battle.net.

If I have only one PC at home and installed one copy of Starcraft II but I have a family want to play. How can I put it multiple CDKEYs on one copy even if I willing to do so?

I assumed I cannot install more than one copy of Starcraft II on one PC.

      • -1

You can register the CDKey online. The "CD" key isn't really relevant to the physical game it self, it's a key to own an account.

Don't stress over it. If you want two copies, just buy two. It's self explanatory once you start.

        • -3

Thanks, they really want more $$$ from players.

So why don't they just sell CDKEY on their site and dl the game and save $$ making the disc, box, etc.

        • They do, but at retail price.

          http://us.blizzard.com/store/details.xml?id=1100001122

You can't get a SEA copy though since they don't have a SEA store.

      • The CD Key is only used to add SC2 to your Battle.net account. It has nothing to do with the installation on your computer.

EDIT: I HATE YOU ASHLEA :[

  • omg nuuuuu i bought it a month ago for 80 at dicksmith =(

  • great price for it.

  • Dam! Sold out online. Wanted to grab it for a mate.

    • Yeah what a disappointment. I really wanted a copy of this.

  • Grabbed 2 copies at Wollongong DSE (they had 5 in stock before I went in). Call your store guys, odds are there will be some stock, if not get a price match.

  • +1

Shouldn't be marked as expired, you can still check for store stock and go collect it there =]

  • Ok I'll edit!

  • is this an UNLIMITED ONLINE PLAY CDKEY???
or do I need to upgrade to something to get it unlimited???

oh, and by the way can I buy it at the store? or does it have to be online only, because it is out of stock online…

    • +1

Yes, it's the same price in stores.

    • +1

Yes, a cd key provides you unlimited battle.net game time.

  • Picked one up at the Adelaide CBD store on Gawler Place. They had a few copies I think.

  • ahhh i just bought one from jb hifi last weekend for $71

  • It might not be available online, but the catalogue that they sent out says they have this available for $49.95 instore.

I just purchased one 20 mins ago in DS Gosford. As of this writing, they had one copy left but the box was a shelf box and is a 'little' beat up.

DS Erina has 16 copies still up for grabs!

I've actually finished the campaign on this on a guest account, but I've been waiting ages for the price to come down so I could try playing it on battle.net [granted, an old fogey like me is probably going to get creamed.]

  • Got them from Adelaide CBD Myers. Extremely good deal. I'm an old player and got them for 89.95 on their prime release. Bought 1 for my friend :)

  • It is back available online at dicksmiths. Just bought 2 copies.
