  • Does Mobileciti have an eBay store? Would have been better if they had a 10% off deal on eBay. With all the eBay GCs that we recently purchased from that UK eBay deal, it would have been a win win deal.

Edit: Yeah, have just checked their eBay store and they're still advertising that already expired 'P5OFF' code with half of their phones. Weird!

    Ehhh.. exynos chip :/

    • There are no local stores that are selling units with snapdragon chips, are there? I would have bought one straight away, but for Aussie market it's only exynos chip, I heard. And I can't take the risk of buying a Hong Kong/Chinese one, with all the warranty and stuff. :(

Some stores do, the one at officeworks has a Snapdragon 845

        • But unfortunately, OW is always exempted from all the 10% or more off eBay sales. That hurts!

Edit: It's funny how all the other sellers who have this specific note 9 with this model number (SM-N960FZBDXSA) simply don't mention the chipset. Even Samsung AU doesn't list it under the specs. Hmm! Interesting!

Pretty sure that's just a wrong listing tbh. Last Samsung flagship model for Australia was Samsung S5 after that every flagship has Exynos chip.

          • @Smokey010: Exactly what I was thinking. No seller with that model number lists the chipset, which would have been a bragging point if it had a snapdragon chipset.

        • does the officeworks one have dual sim? It doesn't mention it on the officeworks site. Is there an easy way to tell without actually physically looking at it?

          • @PleasureMe: Very likely OW's listing is wrong, as mentioned above. Try to Google the model number and see if you can find what chipset it has online. I've just done a quick search and couldn't find anyone listing what chip that model has, not even Samsung AU site.

            • @AussieDaddy: ok so I just did some Googling and found this from Dick Smith for $1,149 which is cheaper that the OPs price (which is out of stock anyway)
              https://www.dicksmith.com.au/da/buy/samsung-galaxy-note-9-du…

Plus it's confirmed dual SIM on the Dick Smith site

              • @PleasureMe: Not as helpful though, cuz they gave themselves a wiggle room as they listed under the specs:

Chipset: Exynos 9810 Octa, or Qualcomm SDM845 Snapdragon 845

Unless there's a way to choose a phone with a Snapdragon 845 chip, then this is useless as they will send you one with an Exynos chip, since the list says one or the other.

PS: That 'one or the other' sounds like a listing from that Hong Kong eBay seller who posted a deal here about a week or so ago. Since Kogan owns DS now, is it possible they're selling gray imports?

              • @PleasureMe: DIck Smith is grey import and Mobileciti is Australian stock

  • Is there really that much of a difference between the chipsets though? Obviously snapdragon is better, but regardless it's still a good phone either way right? You wouldn't buy this purely because of the chip?

If I'm spending 1k+, I kinda want the best of the best…

    • Fair Enough. I'm heading to the US soon. I believe the US models have snapdragon. Would there be any issues with a US model working in Australia?

    • +1

Apparently its critical for a phone and is life and death for some lol

Except the gaming performance, you hardly can notice the different.
