Don't forget to bring a towel! https://youtu.be/MtIsLTwUnSg
rather spend 2999 for a8f
Targeted and expired.
rather wait, 2999 will soon be the normal price for a8f
If only the X9000F 75" was available
Pretty outstanding TV as far as value.
Bloody Sony still hasnt dispatched my A8F OLED.. With the potential burning in etc, tempted to cancel the order and just get a LCD.
They are probably waiting for OLED panel from LG
You realise Sony created OLED and LG bought it from them. Basically like every other feature to do with a TV. First to make full array backlight and first to put in quantum dot LED to name a few.
And now Sony OLED TVs use panels from LG…
You realise Sony created OLED
No.
and LG bought it from them.
No they didn't.
Basically like every other feature to do with a TV.
Nope.
First to make full array backlight
Yes.
and first to put in quantum dot LED to name a few.
Yes.
@Diji1: Sony created it over 10 years ago! It was first a portable TV they made of OLED… Do some research people!!!
@Whisper Quiet: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony_XEL-1
You still gona keep giving your uneducated views Diji1?
A widespread practical application is using quantum dot enhancement film (QDEF) layer to improve the LED backlighting in LCD TVs. Light from a blue LED backlight is converted by QDs to relatively pure red and green, so that this combination of blue, green and red light incurs less blue-green crosstalk and light absorption in the color filters after the LCD screen, thereby increasing useful light throughput and providing a better color gamut.
The first manufacturer shipping TVs of this kind was Sony in 2013 as Triluminos, Sony's trademark for the technology.[10] At the Consumer Electronics Show 2015, Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, TCL Corporation and Sony showed QD-enhanced LED-backlighting of LCD TVs.[11][12][13] At the CES 2017, Samsung rebranded their 'SUHD' TVs as 'QLED'; later in April 2017, Samsung formed the QLED Alliance with Hisense and TCL to produce and market QD-enhanced TVs.[14][15]
Both CashRewards and ShopBack say they don't pay out for electrical items at MYER.
Yeah now it is at a lower price when I ordered the A8F Oled TV.
What are you on??
Nice
For someone scared of burn in, what's the next best thing as far Sony vs LG? Which models should I be looking at because I feel I'm going to miss the boat with these run out models and I'll end up paying more for a few new wanky features.
Thanks in advance.
For someone scared of burn in
They are only LED no need to worry.
I should have been more specific. I omitted the fact that I've steered clear of OLED, just wondering what the next best thing to look out for before all of these models run out.
Fairly sure I've narrowed it down to Sony and LG, but given I'm not in OLED territory anymore, Samsung could also be an option.
Samsung could also be an option.
Yes Samsung QLED.
I won’t touch LG as their after sales support and quality is abysmal and their LCD tech is behind Sony and Samsung. Very happy with my QLED Q6 Samsung, has a lot of gaming specific features like inbuilt 4K steam link and freesync. Also a lot of tv apps like Netflix/iview/SBS/nine now etc, support for mobiles and Bluetooth devices, and universal remote features.
I was waiting for this Sony to drop in price as the blacks are better than QLED, but overall I think the Samsung has a better picture and more features.
@beyondtool: Cheers for the input! I know when speaking anything under OLED it becomes anyone's game so I'll be watching closely for the next few sales.
Thanks for the heads up on LG - not the first time I've heard this.
Extra 6% thru suncorp app discounted giftcards?
You can only buy $1000 in a day.
Sorry 6% was RACQ and 5% was suncorp.
Combined the two platforms.
Great TV, highly recommend.
Also use the rtings settings
Thanks for the post!
I bought this TV on boxing day for $2495 from JBs after reading endless reviews, just went back and they refunded the difference once I showed them this deal.
Amazing Tv as wellrefunded the difference
Lucky you do they know no stock everywhere for C&C and you need to pay for delivery?
Yeah I was pretty happy once I found out that they had a after buy guarantee which included other stores and not just JBs themselves.
I showed it on my phone on the "cart" page and had C+C selected, luckily it doesn't say anything about no stock on that page (not sure where it says no stock). They did it for the price and no delivery. Two managers did have to sign off on it though which looked like a formality.
Now I just need to find a good soundbar to pair
Great price!
