  • any deals for 65 inch?

    • +1
      • thank you, shocked to see that, it costs almost double the price for 65 inch :(

        • It was on sale via DJ for $2799 I made a post with 10% cashback about 2 days ago, sold out now.

          • @aspirepranesh: That was a bargain, did it post to anywhere? The delivery option always says no, but may be different at that time.

            • @Meovel: I checked mine for Brisbane and delivery was available. That's why I made the post. Looks like they have increased the price now.

              • @aspirepranesh: Great it's cheapest ever then! Lucky to get them.
55" seems more cost effective from price.

                • @Meovel: of course. The Panasonic is also good value for money at the same price.

                • @Meovel: can I get your order number for reference. am in harvey norman castke hill.. they were saying that they have not sold for this price. ur bill screenshot may help me

  • Anything in C8?

    • +1

most places have run out of C8 stock and possibly discontinued. You'll be lucky to get one.

      • Discontinued… Which model is replacing it?

        • There have been some discussions on whirlpool by store reps stating that the model was being discontinued. Nothing new… LG does that around this time of the year. Except, the B8 is new and just released, just with a slower processor.

          • @aspirepranesh: Althought most places that reviewed the TV with the newer processor was hard pressed to find any difference between this processor and the newer one. It was touted to help with image quality especially around movement etc.

            • @jlogic: From what I read, the panels and the OS are the same with the same picture quality, I think its the speed of the Web OS that could be the difference. In fact, the E8, C8 and B8 all have the same panels and Web OS.

            • @jlogic: Same could not find the c8 anywhere. Just bought the b8 55inch at Harvey Norman Castle Hill for $1700 delivered

              • @Pathum: it woukd be of great help if you post ur bill. we can refer it other harvey norman stores

              • @Pathum: @jlogic

it woukd be of great help if you post ur bill. we can refer it other harvey norman stores

          • +1

            @aspirepranesh: Thanks Bought it 👍

            • @Krazzyy: it woukd be of great help if you post ur bill. we can refer it other harvey norman stores

      • Yep - Re: C8

Todd's Hifi in Brizzy has them.
        However ~ $2.28K
        https://www.todds.com.au/collections/hot-offers/products/lg-…

Is it worth $600 more than the B8? No chance!
        Cheers

  • Any big retailers doing a price like this on the b8? I'll pull the trigger right now.

  • Thanks, bought one at last!

$1519 with 10% off eBay Gift certificates YES!

Was second to last assuming they have no more stock.

Still 37 available for $10 more at Videopro.

    • Gift certificate, how?

      • +1

When foreign ebay does X% off you can use that to buy eBay gift cards.

    • I got the b7 last year, no regrets at all such a nice looking tv.

  • Hmmm really want to get into OLED for gaming, media and 1st smart TV. Was set on 65 but this seems like way cheaper entry price. Good idea?

    • +1

It's definitely better value to buy 55. But the difference in size between 55 and 65 is significant.

      • +1

Yes the area of the panel is about from memory 40%

http://www.displaywars.com/140-centimetre-16x9-vs-165-centim… you can do the maths here.

      • I have 50 atm and a 65 would be awesome but just seems too expensive. The b8 65 for $2700 like the other day would be the sweetspot. I think I can handle the slower OS due to different processor.

Is this really the only good boxing day sale on TV?

    • Seems to be. There are a odd few c8 left and I've priced between 3.5k and 4.5 for item I feel boxing day is now just a scam

      • It's no scam. There are loads of great sales out there.
You, like many others, took a gamble on the C8 being a Boxing Day special.
To many peoples disappointment, the C8 is not on sale/discontinued so you're airing your frustration.
        I get it.
We all luck out from time to time but I definitely don't share your overall view on BD sales.

        • Managed to get it for 3.2k so I'm happy with that took a bit of running around though

        • -1

Judo, you are the scam. Where are these deals?

          • -1

@Budju: You sound awfully butt hurt. Clearly you fall into the category I mentioned above.
Hey, if you're incapable of finding deals on Boxing day, let's just say it's not because they aren't around.

            • -1

@JudoChop: Do you think you are the master bargain hunter? More likely is you think any kind of marked discount from rrp is a bargain. I'd be interested if you had an example to provide of a good deal so maybe we could consider purchasing?

              • @Budju: Too funny. Don't be a goose. I never said I was anything of the sort. I was responding to the claim that Boxing Day sales are BS. I was generalising, not focussed on a specific product but used the C8 as an example!!
It's obvious you are one of many people that thought they could wait it out and nab a great bargain on the C8 this BD. It was a gamble taken and bet lost. Can't you see that? It doesn't mean there weren't terrific sales out there across a broad range of items and stores.

I decided to go out and buy the 55 C8 in October. Got it for $2100 at DJ's when they were doing their own sale on this TV.

                • @JudoChop: c9 for me

                  • @freedoom: Nice. Expected in March/April. Are you going to wait for the price to drop a little or will you just buy it when they're released?

                • @JudoChop: I dont want a c8, I'm merely saying the deals from major retailers are not great on any tv. I did plan to buy a tv but cant see any deals beyond normal specials they have day in day out.

I'd buy this tv but they don't deliver where i am.

  • The guaranteed delivery date changed from 4th Jan to 5th Jan after ordering. Still it's a great deal

Price matched this at good guys. Picked it up right away. Victoria

      Hi Mate,

They are asking for bill as a proof . See if you can help me in this regard

    • Please post proof

    • If be interested in proof as well to use at the good guys. Thanks

    • could I know where so I could pick up one as well ?

Finally pulled the trigger on an OLED… it's been a good plasma life.

  • -1

Waste of my time and enery. no one posting their order number. verified personally in harvey norman castlehill physical store. No such transaction happened for 1700. Good guys refused for price match unless we have a bill number or bill copy..

    • +1

It's definitely a shame that no one would help a brother by backing up their price with a receipt.

  • Who would be better to buy from these guys or videopro

    • Buying from vediopro is cheaper with their low delivery fee in my opinion

  • Also Im going to buy this tomorrow or soon. Someone said they did able to price match with TGG,
If they can post a receipt to prove it, I can price match with TGG.
Can someone please post the proof here please

    • That would be better :)

  • Sorry is Panasonic OLED better than LG?

or did I read and interpret the comments incorrectly

I have a 5 year old Panasonic smart tv and the remote sucks in terms of user friendly functionality

    • In some ways yes, they all have their benefits. LG is better for gaming and the OS is good, Panasonic has the better colour accuracy and SONY has the better motion for sports.

There all going to be very close but LG gaming, Pana Movies/Tv, SONY sport.

  • +2

The Good Guys Marion price matched

    Receipt

    • Thanks!

    • I just called my local TGG and they can't match this receipt. Is there an alternative way of using this receipt?

      • I'm not sure about the whole receipt matching thing - it may be that your store is selling them well at the full ticket price so don't have the same incentive to move the stock?

    • Thanks Roguenut!
I used this receipt to get The Good Guys Clarkson (WA) to price match @$1733. With $1700 of vouchers at a 6% discount which I get from from HCF (others do this too) it cost me a grand total of $1,646.98.
      Total savings $348.02
Not quite the $1519 that Diji1 got his for but pretty good as I was too slow to get the Ebay Deal.

  • Just pick up one from
    JB Hi-Fi Chadstone $1699.

Let me know if you need proof.

Ring them they would know ..

    • That’s an awesome price. I just got one from The Good Guys Chirnside Park for $1728, matching the eBay price incl delivery (even though their terms and conditions says they don’t match eBay - it just depends who you get on the day I guess).

      • yup, Good guys will just match prices. they were really busy today and their phone keep ringing (when I was paying for the tv).

just note that the TV is super thin and need (prefer) to be transported upright nor lying down.
so make sure you get some help moving it.

no sudden bumps on the road or it will crack the screen .the top end is super thin….

        • Thanks for that! Got it home safely and kids happily watching… enjoy!!
