  • Hi OP, is this good for office uses?

    • +2

Blue switches will be loud so not good if there are people around you.

      • Thanks!

      • Perfect if you want to sound productive

    • +1

Only if you want to annoy your coworkers.

I wanted to murder the guy sitting next to me…

    • maybe tolerable if you buy rubber o-ring dampers, and use a keycap puller to install said dampers underneath all keys

      • +1

Rubber dampers do NOTHING to quieten blue switch clicking. They only stop the sound of mechanical switches "bottoming out".

Mechanical key switches do not need to be pressed all the way down to register a keystroke. On membrane keyboards you MUST press the key all the way down, as that is when the electrical connection is made. Hence, when users change from standard membrane to mechanical switches they inevitably "bash" the keys creating a loud mechanical clacking sound… it is that, rather than the actual click of the key switch, that makes the loud noise! This happens no matter if brown, red, black blue or whatever switches are inside.

  • Very cheap!

  • Thsnks

  • Looking for a quiet mechanical keyboard, but this is tempting

corsair k66 , no lights, cherry red mechanisms (linear quiet), $50 from MSY in store or plus delivery.
      https://www.msy.com.au/viconline/wired/19914-corsair-gaming-…

they were listed on ozbargain last week and someone found a similar gigabyte for $60 from newegg.

If you don't need the light show there are cheap options.

      • Yeah not really looking for light show keyboard as long as it's good to use/clean and quiet. Thanks!

I'm not quite sure what's the brown cherry blue difference? Is cherry means it's quiet? I'm new to this

EDIT: nvm, I looked up and understand abit cherry mx red would be what I'm looking for
