  • I've been needing another one of these for a while and have been waiting for them to come on special at Coles. However the price recently jumped a couple of bucks at Coles to $34.99 so this is a good deal especially with free delivery.

  • I love these Boards, Have purchased about 4 from coles over the past 3 years for various applications, might grab another just incase. Good Spot!

  • edit double post sorry

  • so did they come out on top of the choice review? the linked image doesn't show the ranking.

    • +1

      yes they did :)
compared so some boards worth ~$150-200

Also come with a $25000 garentee for items attached for 5 years.

As a result I always leave everything turned on in a storm to hope the board fails so Crest can replace it all… :)

Registering your appliances is a PITA though, so I didn't bother in the end. I still switch off at the wall when big storms hit - I like my baby too much to fry it for fun.

    • Quoted excerpt from Choice here also with supporting comments. I bought 3 of these powerboards after earlier online research a year or so back and at this price incl delivery it's a great bargain that I thought others would like too.

        From the link:

The marketing director of an Australian surge protector manufacturer, who asked not to be named, said he believed connected equipment warranties “really didn’t hold much water”. “I’ve been in this industry for eight years”, he said. “I think it’s just a sales tool”.

i've always thought the powerboard insurance was a waste of money too.

  • Thanks for that i just brought it

  • +1

Does it have a switch on the side?

    • yeah i want to know this aswell.. maybe not individual switch on/off but how about on the side for all ?

      • you don't use a saftey pin shorted across the active and neutral to turn it off?

    • +1

yes it does. Bought a couple of these in the past for around $36.
$19.98 delivered is a good price.
They work alright, only annoying thing is that they have round recesses for your plugs, so you might have trouble fitting in some power adapters.
Aldi had theirs for $25 with 8 sockets, but the surge energy absorption joules was far less than this one and it didn't have any guarantee.

    • +1

Yes it has a switch on the side that also lights to show power is available to the board.

  • .

  • bought

  • Was just looking at one of these yesterday but I want an 8(or more) with individual switches for each one.
Anyone know how much more those would cost?

    • +1

I'm not 100% sure, but I think about $30-40 cheapest, Reject Shop or Bunnings.

    • +1

They had some on sale at the Reject shop, but that was one of the one off things, might come back again. They had hpm individual switched boards.

Get the Powertech one which came second in the same Choice review - you can get it from Jaycar. I think it is about $60.

  • WTF? I just finished past the payment screen and then it says the product is no longer available (no longer in stock). What an appalling waste of time! Don't they hold onto your item as you're paying?

    Not pleased at all.

    • Exact same thing happened to me on the PS3 Navigation controller earlier today. It's exceedingly irritating. So I feel your pain.

      • Yea bad luck mate. I spoke with their online call centre and she said there was nothing she can do apart from "passing it along to someone'. Urgh.

    • It just got ozbargained. Anything on this site that is remotely cheap gets sold out in no time.

  • +1

Looks like this is sold out. Too late for me!

  • Sold out… damn!!! :(

  • +3

I started reading this from top to bottom. At the beginning I wasn't all that interestered but as I read down I felt like I had to get it. Then I got to the end and now I feel like crying. Thanks Ozbargain!

    • lol went through the same thing today!

  • Missed out again, did anyone check in store to see if it's the same price?

  • has anyone created an account and paid for the item, then the next day you account with big w doesnt exist?

i bought the headphones last night and registered on their site. my bank is showing there is a card autorisation but i cant login nor did they send me any emails of my order last night. im definite my email is correct because i used it last night to login to the site.

    • No problem here. I got an email for registering, an email for each order (with tracking info) and can log on with my credentials fine.

If you can't log on after your original session and got no emails it's possible you made a typo as they don't verify email (via the usual process of a received link). Contact them and ask them to check the account associated with your transaction/address and they will hopefully be able to sort things out.

      • all sorted out.

your correct my email address was wrong, however i managed to incorrectly spell my email when i first registered and login the first few times which led me to believe it was correct.

        thanks

  • Too late, its expire already. Back to $29.98 and no more stock

  • It came today - happy! Thanks OP!
