Good point, any thoughts on how each airline compares (in general)?
Virgin a bit better, a bit cheaper. Quality has gone done since launching this route, but still better than Qantas.
Qantas gives out more snacks. ie, fruit, nuts and ice cream.
VA allows you to bid Business class upgrade (min. $500).
Qantas has their own lounge in HK, well worth it for $20 (you can get passes off Gumtree).
VA utilises Hong Kong Airlines lounge. This is free if you get the Business class upgrade

Has anyone ever used BYOJet through IWTF?
May be a bit too late to ask now but I have just bought ticks thru BYO jet. Was given airline booking reference, eticket and all but does not work with VirginAustralias manage booking portal.
Cant say im not concerned after now ready through TripAdvisor re BYOs reviews…

No issues here. Make sure to use the CheckMyTrip ref number which is the real airline booking ref and not the one provided on BYOJet receipt.
Go for Virgin if you want luggage, 2x23kg vs Qantas 30kg
