Lmao! How compassionate.
come on, don't pick on the poor guy lol
can someone share what's a good use for an external m2 drive?
It's only good if you have a SATA M2 drive and no M2 slot on your motherboard or a PCIe M2 slot but no SATA support. Basically, smaller external drive.
You would use it like a very fast USB stick, with SSD speeds. If you can source the M2 SATA SSD cheaper than a Samsung T5 SSD (not that difficult), this would be a cheaper and more compact alternative to that device.
What advantage is there having USB 3.1 gen 2 when it's limited to SATA III speeds?
Marketing :)
One Amazon reviewer says the controller is ASM-105x USB 3.0, so no speed advantage anyway. Type C is still handy though.
Basically around 500MBps vs 400MBps in my experience.
If they could make the USB head stick out of the enclosure instead of requiring a cable, it would be a perfect replacement for a USB stick, since it's size is only a little bit bigger.
Or maybe have a very short soldered in cable so that it doesn't cannibalise the USB port next to it.
If they could do that, it would be cheaper and smaller than a Samsung T5.
I'll buy one of these when they get cheaper.

Like this?
Yes, like that. That one is even cheaper.
Only works for SATA M.2
if you will never recycle for internal use better off with Samsung T5.

I think you could buy a enclosure and an M.2 SSD for much cheaper than the T5.
I have recently purchase this item at around $35. I am happy with the speed. Have just bought another one.
I had another brand and top speed is around 980Mbps read/write, with intel 570. How about this one?
What software do you use to test. I will use the same, otherwise it is like apple and orange.
Hi,
I use Blackmagic Disk Speed Test, and the SSD is Intel 750, typo. Sorry :D
And here is the enclosure I have
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/XT-XINTE-LM902-NVME-USB3-1-TO-PC…
Note: Took 15 days to arrive.@hungchieu: Oh, first NVME enclosure that I know off.
The wavlink is not NVME.@Black Hole: I bought the WL-ST237C which worked with my M.2 WD. Blue NVME just fine. Seems the WLA-237 here I different.
Fired it up and formatted 2TB on OSX no issue.Mine was $40 from the 20% off on eBay.
Hi OP - Does this code work on other items in your store, or just this particular item?
Supports Widows apparently
