can vouch for ESET, great piece of software

    Hi OP,
What is the difference between the Multi Device Security and Internet Security?
ESET Internet Security has 3 Device 1 year subscription too…

    • +1

Hey Bappy, with an 'ESET Multi-Device Security' license, you can install any combination of the following ESET products on 3 devices:

      Windows

      • ESET Internet Security
      • ESET NOD32 Antivirus

      macOS

      • ESET Cyber Security Pro
      • ESET Cyber Security

      Android

      • ESET Mobile Security for Android
      • ESET Parental Control for Android
      • ESET Smart TV Security

      Linux

      • ESET NOD32 Antivirus for Linux Desktop

In a nutshell 'ESET Internet Security' is a single product. On the other hand, you can protect three devices (PC/Mac/Linux/Android) with 'ESET Multi-Device Security'.

Isn't this $9.95 in another active deal?

    • +1

Hi Lukian, I did a quick search but not manage to find an active deal. Could you send or DM me a link and I am happy to have a look?

Also, we are not selling OEM antivirus products. So you may find this product cheaper elsewhere, but unless OEM licences are purchased with a new device, they are violating the Licence Agreement meaning you may not receive support from ESET, won't be able to re-register the product on new devices and/or won't be able to extend the licence once it expires.

      • +2

You can get ESET Internet Security 3 Device 1 Year for $9.90 from saveonit

        • Is it the OEM version?

Also, this is 'ESET Internet Security' not 'ESET Multi-Device Security', so the comparable (non-OEM) deal is ESET Internet Security 1PC 1Yr @ $29.95.

OEM licenses are only to be sold with hardware and have limited support.

          • +1

@ironbastion: As Bappy pointed out, SaveonIT is much cheaper for ESET Internet Security 1PC 1yr - currently $6.50. I am currently using this, have no issues and didn't need to buy hardware.

            • @Shoocat: Hi tycho, it is good to hear. We guarantee that our product in this deal comes from the official distributor and genuine. Our licence will not cause any troubles in terms of licencing and ESET provides full support for products with the full licence.

If you need more AV and internet security products for home and small businesses in the future, make sure to check out our other products as well: https://shop.ironbastion.com.au/collections/all

            @ironbastion: I don't think that it's OEM.

I recently got an ESET Internet Security 1PC key from SaveonIT and it didn't seem to redeem as any thing to do with OEM. I Just wonder if they get their ESET keys from a grey market but for that price it's a likely so.

            • @hollykryten: Hi hollykryten - The product code on the SaveOnIT deal is AV-ESISOEM-3D1Y-EMAIL, which means the product is very likely to an OEM licence.

              • +1

@ironbastion: Oh yeah you're right it is OEM. And but you see the FAQ section says that it's an Australian license key. So i can count grey market out.

So these keys from SaveOnIT are official Australian license keys. So yes they will come with support from ESET Australia. I know since i'm a Microsoft Windows user if i had a choice for Internet Security 3PC for $40 less i would be going for the Internet Security any day. The only thing that Multi Device Security offers over the Internet Security version seems to be Mac, Linux and Android support. But for Windows users only there's not much point getting that for $40 more. In fact the Windows version product which comes bundled with Multi Device Security is in fact ESET Internet Security and NOD32 Antivirus but you're better off with Internet Security any how. I'm sorry but i'm just being honest there. Who cares if the Internet Security from SaveOnIT is OEM it still works fine for the end user and is Australian keys.

From SaveOnIT page for ESET Internet Security 3PC 1YR.

"Q. Are the license key Australian license?

                A. Yes the product key are Australian license keys which are used in Australian region. Once activated, you can use them overseas as you travel."

                • @hollykryten: If the OEM product works fine for you, we are happy. :) What we offer with this purchase is the peace of mind that our software licences will work in any situation and receive full support from ESET when a problem occurs.

How much is this product normally please OP?

    • Hi PJC, it is A$99.95 from ESET directly: https://www.eset.com/au/home/multi-device-security/

We are selling the same product (not the OEM version). Normally we sell it for $89.95, but we got a discount from the distributor that we are passing on to OzBargain.

      • That information belongs in your description. Your 'edit' button is between 'view' and 'revisions'.

        • Thank you for your suggestion, we have updated the product description

eset in Australia is still expensive - not gouging as much as they used to but hey

    • Hi Petry, I tend to agree that other products may have a more competitive price. On the plus side, we are passing on a discount we got from the distributor at the moment, so this might be a good time to surprise yourself with an ESET product for Christmas. :)

We have a few more AV deals running at the moment (Kaspersky and ESET):
      https://shop.ironbastion.com.au/collections/on-sale-antiviru…

    • See Bappy's comment - ESET doesn't need to be expensive. I've bought Kaspersky from the same shop (SaveonIT) before for under ten bucks and that seems to do the job as well. Having said that, if you really want to save $$$ and have a PC just stick with MS Essentials for $0.

      • Please bear in mind we are not selling OEM products, hence the different price. You can read the differences between OEM vs. Retail Products here: https://shop.ironbastion.com.au/pages/faq

        • Or grey market keys for that matter.

          • @hollykryten: Hi hollykryten – You are right. We are not selling OEM or grey market products from overseas, hence the different price. The product at SaveOnIT tycho mentioned comes with an OEM licence.

We are selling the genuine full retail licence that does not come with any hardware-purchase requirements. We guarantee that our product will not cause any licensing issues in the future. Also, it comes with full support and ESET can help you when you are in trouble.

Iron Bastion are currently passing on a discount from our ESET distributor, but sadly we cannot lower the price any further (as much as we would love to!).

Can I please have following answered/confirmed:
    - can I buy several 1 year renewals and stack them up for multiple years?
    - can I use AU keys offered here with my current license bought back in Europe to renew it (it is due to expire some time next year)?
    - currently I have 5+5 license - what if I decide to buy 3 devices key? can I use it to upgrade/downgrade my current license?

I'm Eset user for years and never had any issues with it. Love it over any other.

    • kaspersky is free. no need to pay anything for 12 mths and you can extend it for free for 12 mths which I done it.

    • Let me check these for you, krisp, and I will get back to you

      • +1

        much appreciated

        • Good morning, krisp – Let me try to answer your questions as best I can:

can I buy several 1 year renewals and stack them up for multiple years?

No, this will not work. The license activates as of the date either purchased or entered into software. We don’t recommend purchasing stock in advance either as codes we have on hand have end of life dates attached to them.

can I use AU keys offered here with my current license bought back in Europe to renew it (it is due to expire some time next year)?

If the license is activated in our region then I believe it can be renewed outside of our region but I’m not 100% sure.

currently I have 5+5 license - what if I decide to buy 3 devices key? can I use it to upgrade/downgrade my current license?

Your license can be downgraded via the ESET portal I believe should you decide to lower your license count or product.

If you have any further questions, please let us know!

Did you find answers for my questions?
        Thanks.

        • Good morning, krisp – Yes :) Please scroll up a bit, I just answered them. Thank you and have a great morning.

  • I was looking at buying eset initially until I came across this test challenge. It failed and I end up buying something else.
