        True, but it's the twin lens kit with the D3500, and given it was $1000 just a couple of weeks ago, it's not bad at all. The 70-300mm lens is in itself about $350.

          @fuzor For $650 I can buy a very capable entry-level DSLR with two lenses. Being a photography novice, I don't really want to spend $3k for a camera plus $1k for a z-mount lens. And, at least in my opinion, the D3500 is superior to similarly priced mirrorless cameras, you just sacrifice the compactness of it which isn't a big problem for me.

            The D3500 is new & has access to one of the largest pools of great lenses available.

            It will be well & truely worn out from years & years of use before anything else.

            I can’t see investing in the lens system being an issues for decades

      It's ok if you don't want to outlay the full amount upfront. Nothing is ever free though. Generally you either pay a monthly fee or an upfront fee to sign up to something like a Go Mastercard and that's how they get their end of the deal. I don't recall the exact fee amounts but it's not unreasonable.
