      No surge protection. Lame

      • When was the last time cheap MOV surge protection saved your equipment? Didn't think so.

I bought a Jackson 5 one, but it set my hair on fire when I spilt Pepsi on it.

I'm not a big fan of Jackson stuff. I have plenty of 15 and 20 year old power boards from HPM or Arlec but the 3 year old Jackson ones all suffer from tight sockets, and a couple had to be thrown out when they simply wouldn't accept a plug anymore.
Their USB chargers are also lacking in information, they quote "2.4 Amp" on their two socket charger without stating if it's shared between both or 2.4 on each. It just isn't good enough these days.

        • What is the problem with tight sockets, when the socket cannot accept a plug, or the plug will just not stay in/connected?

@PlasmaCatcher: very hard to push in , don't know why

I only got Arlec ones so not sure if they're any better/worse than this.

    • I haven't had an issue with Arlec.

  • Can you get boards with higher amp ratings? Can't have toaster and kettle on mine.

I doubt it (happy to be corrected) because Australian electrical standards specify max 10A from a normal power outlet; something like that. So you'd have to buy one with no current limit whatsoever, e.g. the basic double adapter.

  • Does anyone know if these are any good?

  • +3

    no Jackson 5?

    • +2

it has 5 outlets, but only 4 work anymore

  • Does anyone know if I can daisy chain this with a proper surge protector? I'm running out of power point in my wall.

Also, would this work with EoP (powerline adapter) extender without speed loss?

    Thanks

    • Bunnings sell gpo.

    • You can daisy chain it but be mindful of total power

Worst brand ever. I have a few of the surge protected power board. The led less had gone off. Bought a brand new one recently. Failed surege led as well. Returned it and bought a HPM.

  • Thanks. Purchased Two. They got Life time Warranty. So you can replace anytime.

      Unless they kill you.

I've been using this powerboard http://www.doss.com.au/spb44-4-way-surge-protected-power/

Yes it costs more, about $18 or less on ebay with % off codes, but at least all 4 sockets are wide spacing and useable with different size plugs and adaptors.

    • Nice!!. Getting one of those instead :)

    Xiaomi is way more better.
