That's the Ulefone 3 and not 3T. Only difference is the latter has the walkie talkie function.

Aaaand that awkward moment when a store rep gets smashed by their own store :P

      • The survivalist in me wants to spend the extra 30 bucks for a walkie talkie. I assume u can remove the antenna?

Yes it screws on. Might be worth checking if the frequencies are supported in Aus first.

@Clear: The phone only supports 400-470MHz which doesn't cover the Australian UHF CB band at 476-477MHz, unfortunately.

It does cover the amateur band, but I don't think ham operators would be too impressed with it. :)

            • @eug: think the idea is another person has the same phone for walkie talkie function eg when going camping or in the bush where you might not even have 3g or 4g coverage ….

              • +1

@garage sale: Yeah, but it doesn't support the official UHF CB frequencies so it would be illegal to use unless properly licensed.

Some radios allow you to go out of band though, so maybe there's a way to extend coverage to the UHF CB band (although that technically doesn't fix the legality issue). In any case an actual set of CB radios would probably be more suitable for that, as I assume not everyone will need to carry a radio around with their phone every day of the week. :)

    • That coupon doesn't work for me.

  • Seems like a really good phone only question is CPU. Anyone have this?

    • its 8x A53 cores, so about the same as SD625 which is also 8 x A53 cores but it can clock higher than SD625.
then it also comes down to graphics processor differences ….

depends what you want to do …I don't even look at processor type anymore, it's more about android version and support for me, and I turn off background apps to save power anyway

I've just gone from an SD8XX series to a SD660, notice no difference in performance.

had mediatek in a Xiaomi Redmi phone ….worked fine.

  • Also just realised you can take underwater photos with this

I used a rugged phone for a while years ago and managed to get some cool underwater shots. I wouldn't recommend you go diving with it though.

I really want to buy one to play with it, but I also really do not need one!

  • massive 10300mAh battery with fast charge.

  • Just ordered the non talkie version [Armour 3] for 350 delivered ($363-4% cashrewards) https://www.gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_009221829143.html… unnecessary…. wife will kill me.

    • Actually looking at a tough phone for a phone/camera/GPS maps for motorbike trips.
Better than dedicated individual items etc

  • Thinking of buying a waterproof phone to use during shower…

  • I have the armour 2

its heavy, ugly and the camera is atrocious

I bought it because it was supposed to be tough - and it is

I'm not sure about the 3 but the waterproof rating on the 2 is dependent on a plastic bung that plugs the charging port - it breaks off quite easy rendering it not at all waterproof ;)

edit: just read the link - USB port needs the bung - rubbish design
