go for 1440p at 100hz slower for $100 more , any day

Yet I got negged for suggesting 120hz to 100hz wasn't worth worrying about in the Asus 34 thread. 1440p is infinitely better.

Free delivery with code POSTMAN and $50 off using eBay gift cards, takes it to $450 delivered.

AFAIK this VA panel is not well rated at all for 200 fps gaming, and is basically a 100hz panel with a gimmick.

By the by, does anyone know if Kogan will pump out some more 1080p144hz units at around $150, or is that a pipe dream? I stupidly passed over grabbing it at net of about $125 with those $50 off $120 spend vouchers.

or you could be like the cool kids (who got the Samsung) and get this one:

    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-49-curved-329-super-ultra…

also on sale at the moment for 999

I got the Samsung (on sale), its a bit "big", but still quite cool!

    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/samsung-49-329-3840x1080-144hz-…

    (bought from here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/414148)

    • That's really cheap but awfully low resolution.

problem is though, if its much higher resolution, you wont find a card that can drive it, I have a Vega 64, with all the graphics turned up, i'm only getting 60-80FPS anyways… i guess you could always turn down the graphics, but then it just becomes graphics vs resolution…

    • 'a bit'

    • My god that’s a huge monitor.

Did you also need a bigger desk?!

      • Nah, it’s fine, should fit on most desks comfortably, it’s really only the size of two 27 inch monitors side by side with no bezel… and a nice curve, that said it’s actually much wider than many 49 inch tvs because it’s not that high..

I no longer have apps open in full screen now…

Only problem is many games aren’t designed for that wide a screen, so it feels your missing some of the top of the screen…

  • I'd rather get this -

    https://www.harveynorman.com.au/lg-31-5-inch-32gk650f-qhd-ga…

    for $498. 32", 144hz 1440p with Freesync.

The one you link isn't ultrawide, this one is. That would be the trade off.

      • True. But if you can't afford to step up to 1440p for an ultrawide then you're going to get a subpar experience. The Kogan is only 79ppi, whereas the LG is 92ppi. It may not sound like much but it makes a big difference to the screendoor effect.
